WinterSnowfall: Perhaps, but to us anime connoisseurs it's something we're used to because it's sort of a national oddity in Japan. Being "
kawaii" and dressing up/looking as a teenager is something older women casually do as well. I'm not saying I don't find it odd (or what you'd call "creepy", I guess), but that doesn't make it less of a cultural reality.
Breja: I understand. Well, sort of. Not really, I don't really understand anything about anime, kawaii, and frankly I don't want to. But I get that it is as you say. I don't think that really changes anything. For one thing, there's quite a bit of difference between "characters looking underage" and people of obvoiusly legal age dressing up.
Anyway, I'm not trying to play moral police. Fiction, fantasy, porn - all of that is not reality. Finding sexy in that context something that might be... let's say questionable in reality is not a crime, nor should it be. I'm just saying that "they look underage but the text says they are totally not!" sounds like a pretty weak and obvious excuse.
It's not really something I think of major importance here, the characters in this game didn't even really strike me as underage as much as just terrible generic anime models. What does strike me as horrendous is the voice acting and writing. I'm not even sure, is it supposed to be a parody? With anime I find it impossible to tell.
It's painted characters, no real human got hurt in the making, imagine them whatever age you want to.
And yeah you're playing the moral police in basically any Anime game release thread.
I agree about the voice acting but that is basically every english anima dub.
As for the writing, japanese story telling is way different than ours.
Watch some live action Japanese movies.
Edit:Not sure how the none got into there.
