MaximeMartyr: Here it is! This is how customers agreements should be written! Simple to read, to understand, and honest. Just like the privacy policy that I shared with you.

I have been trying to do it, glad to learn that I will have help. ;-3

richlind33: Do you know anything about inter-galactic distress beacons? o.O
I know how you feel. Me too I dream of extraterrestrial advanced civilizations who come to our planet to fix our fucked up society and teach us how to develop a nice society because mankind obviously is not intelligent enough to do it alone.
And it seems that you heard about the extraterrestrials' rule that they must not take part in our business if we don't specifically ask them to do.
However, those who have the opportunity to ask for help to other planets don't because our unfair society profits to them so they don't want to fix it.
Selfishness has always ruled mankind.

skeletonbow: Yeah, they're best ignored for the most part. Following them ultimately leads to RSI for what ends up being boring poetry in the end and going in circles. The WOPR rule is the winning move on that front. :)
Wut? I didn't understand what you said.

MaximeMartyr: Wut? I didn't understand what you said.
I was cracking a subtle joke about No Man's Sky. :)
Wow! My rep has decreased again. :-3
I am amazed how each time that someone says something philosophical, he/she is downvoted.
It is like "If you want to be popular in GOG forums, then be an asshole, be petty to others, never say anything nice, never say anything intelligent, talk only to mock people and say stupid things, take example on Idiocracy.".
I noticed that community members who often are petty and talk trash have usually high rep and some community members who say often intelligent and nice things have low rep.
Just look at richlind33's rep which is -167 whereas I never read him/her say anything mean or disrespectful, he/she is actually one of those who say intelligent/nice things.
Whereas there are community members who don't respect anyone and anything, who always talk to say trash, mock others, be assholes, say stupid things which don't bring anything to discussions and these persons have crazy high reps! O.O
So I come to the conclusion that GOG forums are ruled by petty persons who downvote anyone who say anything intelligent/nice and who keep upvote each other to stay at the top reps.
This is why I think that this post vote and rep system is really wrong and I don't understand why such an open-minded organization as GOG did implement such a mean system at the first place.
I made a wish to fix it. My wish has immediatly sunk deep into the endless wishlist and I think that no one ever noticed it. :-3

Went over my head, too, possibly because I spared myself from buying that piece of procedurally generated shite from hell. This bit of gameplay was more than sufficient to satisfy my curiosity -- and I highly recommend it because it's hilarious. ;p

Well, they say if you have to explain a joke then it isn't funny... but that's only true to those you explain it to perhaps, I dunno. ;P It was a tongue in cheek crack at No Man's Sky beacons that call out to you, then you go chase after them by playing the boring tedious game, doing the same thing repetitively for hours on end resulting in RSI (repetitive stress injury) as your reward. If you continue this and make it to the end of the game you get some boring ass poetry read to you as the "big surprise" Sean Murray promised, which is extremely underwhelming to say the least and no great amazing thing awaiting in the center of the galaxy. Then you're warped to a new galaxy to do it all over again. Snorefest.

The WOPR reference is to the movie War Games, in which the computer (WOPR) which is in control of the United States nuclear arsenal and about to wage global thermonuclear war due to bad programming for the most part - is asked to play a game of tic-tac-toe against itself over and over again. It repeats this many times faster and faster, with the outcome always being a tie and eventually the computer AI learns from this process and comes to the conclusion "The only way to win the game, is not to play."

So with a couple of obscure references I was taking the beacon reference to refer to No Man's Sky and suggesting the only way to win the game is not to play. :)

One of the youtubers said he found a picture of Sean Murray laughing when he got to the center. lol

That'd be a realistic simulation mod. :)

Rixasha: Could be worse; at least you can still find it on eBay for prices that are not outrageous, and the last official patch removes the CD check so it's DRM-free too.

Runs fine on Wine on Linux, not sure if there are issues to expect in current versions of Windows.

MaximeMartyr: As I said, they could release it abandonware if they think that it is too old to sell well nowadays.

Fairfox: Thankies for teh replies, even if they conflict a li'l! Stiii-iiill, I thinkies I 'get' teh level of violence from 'em by teh description(s) of zoom-zoom violence.

Probs don't sound liek mah thang, anyhoohar, but Necromongers (lolz, "mongers"?!) makes teh story sound fantasy-liek 'n' I dooo-do liek fantasy. Pure sci-fi... not so much. Or at all.

MaximeMartyr: Oh my gosh, I don't understand what you say, what language are you talking?? :-3
I'd say it's English written in its own anglicized phoneticism, which provides derivable pronunciation without the need for either an additional alphabet or memorizing consistent spelling, while enabling the recording of polyphthongs and their intended elongation and accentuation, resulting in a potential for preserving the essences of expression, emotion, and facial expression. I mean, at first glance it seems that way to me…
I have a feeling one day I am going to own more GOG games than GOG.com does.

Best quote I heard about NMS was by Mikebakafony "It's the only game you can beat, by deleting the fucking save file!" haha.

This is such bullshit. No warning whatsoever, only if you visited the forums on that specific day. Well, guess i gotta get the game through other means now.

Could have easily have bought it when it was for sale. It was only a few years... only.
