I always was against Cancel Culture, as a Law student I believe everyone is innocent until proven otherwise, nobody should be treated that way just for be informally accused in a social media, I really hope the studios like Techland, Gato Studios amd Paradox being sued, so finally somebody give it a punishment for take side before a proper investigation.

People have denied right away and get dogpiled worse.. Its the classic witch hunt/force someone to submit a false guilty plea to stop whats going on tactic .. Just saying

Mob justice isn’t something technological any more than the gun is the killer. Technology has just “empowered” this. The underlying human traits have not changed. The “inclusion” culture which excludes those that don’t agree, the equal rights movement wishing merely shifts the weight of power. Facism is not confined to one rule set, it works equally well for the far left etc. The groups, names, allegiances vary slightly, human nature doesn’t.

Yeah, that was a great achievement of civilisation. Can it make some culprits go free? Definitely. But it's worth it, unless we want to go back to the witch trials of the Middle Ages.
As Avallone himself wrote - accusations should be taken seriously and not be disregarded. On the other hand "taking them seriously" and "believing them out of hand" are two different things. Life is complicated. Sometimes some is simply being an asshole, sometimes someone is accused of being an asshole to harm them, and sometimes views of what asshole behaviour is simply clash.

So hearing every side and doing some proper investigation was a thing. Sadly, especially in cases like this, we seem to be back at torches and pitchforks mobs and lynching, at least in a social way.

I ask myself where this comes from. This need and joy of destroying somebody, conclusive evidence or not. This is simply scapegoating - people needing somebody to be "it", to be held responsible for all the shit in their lives, and of course it resolves nothing - creating a need for more scapegoats. And prominent figures are more satisfying when their heads roll...
