I guess they do, but I have not really noted a change in the non-discount (base) price of a game ... other than small variations based on Exchange Rate.

I have gotten into the habit (possibly a bad move) of just scanning my Wishlist on arrival to GOG each day, and only really taking note of discounts (games on special).

I haven't really gone looking for games that have been marked down in price permanently. One presumes that does happen, and that a game could conceivably become cheap enough for me (enter the sweet zone) without needing to be on special.

I think I used to check all the prices on my wishlist when I first started using GOG, but with so many games and so many specials, I guess I have gravitated to what saves time ... the obvious discounts.

So GOG, if you are listening (well reading anyway), if games do become cheaper over time, and you want me (at least) to notice, so you can gain more sales, then perhaps another page (running log even) similar to the Sales pages is needed?

In other words, if the base price of a game comes down, then it appears on a log type page, that is quick and easy to check back through .... so based on date I guess.

For someone who checks as I do on arrival, that would mean the following.
1. Check Wishlist for discounted games.
2. Check GOG's main page for Freebies and Specials and New Releases.
3. Check the Sales pages (once in a while).
4. CHECK THAT NEW RUNNING LOG page of games that have changed their base price.

P.S. Or maybe just some indicator on the Wishlist.

I have this thread favorited. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens.

For example, yesterday, Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs was reduced in price from $24.99 to $19.99 base price.
Before that, Kona was reduced from $19.99 to $14.99 on May 10th.
There is at least one forum thread record price changes of GOG games.
You can also use gogdb.org or Magog database (Magog do not record newly-released games).

No, GOG never maintain any reliable lists or services. Do not expect they will listen to you this time.

GOG games do change their base price. Some became higher, some became lower, that depends on the decision of developers and publishers.

Thanks for that.
I had a look and aren't impressed. It seems almost as messy and horrible to browse as the What Just Updated thread.

Do spoilers work here?
hidden text
Really, the entries should be kept simple ... brief and to the point. Another topic should be used for greater detail.

Kona

Was $x.xx now $x.xx USD (see here for detail)

You really need to be able to tell things at a glance, not wade through a bunch of stuff.

GOG broke their forum system several times, and make multiple URLs in one line difficult.

Many good threads become unreadable, and GOG never fix those bugs they made.

Their forum software would only need to support a Spoiler type tag.
You don't need to do multiple URLs in a single line.
Lots of raised prices, 6 ->10, 10->20

I remember the Interplay games that reaised their price from $5.99 to $9.99. But can you give any examples for games that raised their price from $9.99 to $19.99? I really doubt that there were any.

PaterAlf:
Some where the price was set to 20 when brought to GOG even they had cost 10 for years.

I remember seeing some 14.99 -> 19.99
Factorio 20 -> 30 (very short time) -> 29.99
(I think the price 29.99 of Factorio is a bug. The price upsteam decide is 30, not 29.99.)

UPDATE
Shovel Knight 14.99 -> 24.99

To be fair, base prices going up usually happens when a game adds a lot of new content (like with Shovel Knight), or when the game is In Dev and nears release (like Factorio, or Kôna). Except for the "Interplay debacle", of course... :\

I'm not really attacking you or criticizing you at all really. No doubt you work within limited means, and do the best you can with what you have.

You either need better forum software or features, plus perhaps better access ... or in reality GOG should be doing it.

Only GOG have the necessary power and details to do what I am suggesting, properly.

I certainly could not do it ... not without those things anyway.

THANKS for doing as much as you do. :)

P.S. I run a forum of my own, so I am somewhat familiar with possibilities ... with good forum software etc.

King of Dragon Pass went from $5.99 to $11.99 recently.

We discussed it in another thread recently.

I believe it got remastered.

Yeah, I guess I have indeed seen that kind of price change a few times.

It is the reductions in base price that I feel vague on really ... except for the few that GOG has put in the spotlight.
