tort1234: Vocal minorities like SJWs don't really buy any games.
(...)
GOG should NEVER bow down to SJW folks as they are not a viable market.

plagren: Unlike you with your 16 (presumably all free) games?
I've sure got more then 16 games. Look, if you're old enough you'll remember the old words "Never give in to bullies. Always stand up to them." This is more of the same, everything from "save the boob plate" right up to the crap of CDPR apologizing for offending people who go out of their way to be offended. Don't bow to bullies. Don't bow to people who go out of their way to be offended, they will only come after you again, and again, and again. Until it gets to the point you're publishing crap and wondering "WTF where did my studio go" I'm lookin' at you Bioware. The recently shelved dishonored series, and the loud mouth suit from EA.

Let's be realistic here. If these people who are whining over what was posted over on 2077, were transported back to 1998. They'd be the same ones crying over Fallout 2 and your ability to marry a same-sex partner.
I think CDPR/GOG is being kinda clever. They keep making politically incorrect jokes, and then "ok ok we're sorry if you got offended,,,", and then making another, and another, and another. :D

While I'm at it, I'd like to apologize to all the forum members I've offended in the past, and in the future. I am sorry, already beforehand!

This is getting really stupid, honestly if I was CDPR or GoG I think I would simply decide to stop trying to makes jokes or interact with fans on Twitter, just post safe posts informing of new releases on Gog or news on Cyberpunk, at most answer some simple questions but that's it.

In the current PC culture overloaded climate either they decide to continue making jokes and they own them once the usual dum-dum gets offended by them or they stop and only post "safe" and "sanitized" things, but IMHO they cannot have it both ways, trying to make jokes and then apologizing every time some morons are triggered by them (which will only happens more and more sadly) only manage to make things worse.

500+ tweets, two mistakes without ill intent. Hardly calls for turning the feeds into generic newsfeeds.

Heh, that's a perspective I haven't considered. I'll keep that in mind next time they do that apology thing again. :-)
Thank you.

You're right. Now the question is, why give in to people who go out of their way to make it an issue? And by issue, I mean they're not only "making themselves part of the story" by being outraged - then writing that story for the sites that they work for to jimmy up the outrage farm on social media. Which ends up being a pointing of fingers with: "Look at those backward peoples! HISSSSSsssss....Attack!"

I've bought every single CDPR game that's ever come out, but if you side with SJW's, I will be forced to boycott your game. I can't believe I would ever have to say this to CDPR, because I LOVE YOUR COMPANY! I've supported you since your inception, but you betrayed me today. *sigh*

If you value politics higher then a good game, then yes, i do think you should boycott and stop playing games in general. perhaps find a new hobby where you can just relax and let go, gaming is not good for you if you get riled up like this and it becomes political for you, instead of finding enjoyment in the games.

Yes but that's the two that everybody are talking about, the two who triggered controversies and click bait articles and then the third one happens (and it will happen) nobody will cares about the other 500+ tweets either and the same thing will restart again.

'And it will happen'

I feel like a discussion with a person who has already made their mind up is fruitless, and also a wider issue within modern social media and interactions online. Thank you for presenting your point in a civil manner, hopefully, others will follow your lead.

While I can't speak for them, I think they're speaking in terms of the opposite. They don't want the developers to be "housed by agendas." They don't want some vocal minority who doesn't play their games dictating how much bare skin is allowed, or if navels are too sexy thus must be covered. They don't want the story writers to censor what they're making, they don't want the artists covering up characters. They want companies to cater the ads, jokes, memes to the people who are actually going to buy the game.

Compare just how far western developers currently go out of their way "not to offend" then compare it to Japanese developers who say look on with mild amusement and ignore it all. Just look at how far translators will litterally gut material out of a story, because THEY not the developer, find it morally offensive. To make a point, The Witcher being made today would be blasted from sex-negative feminists, people joining the outrage mob(s), and screeching from the highest towers over the sex cards. You'd see the articles on polygon, kotaku, the mary sue, the verge, vice, and all the rest saying how this "dehumanizes women" "treats them as sex objects" and blahblahblah.

Were currently in a social age where people are being censored(either hard or soft) to avoid offending the mob of self righteous busybodies that would be more at home 20-30 years ago with the "rap music despoils the youth" and "AD&D causes mass murders and satanism" crowds.
Well this one actually isn't all that bad. Unlike gog's one earlier, cdpr didn't reverse direction to attack people that find the joke funny, whereas gog turned it around and insulted gamers for no reason during the apology. If they had said 'we're sorry for this tweet, all people that found it funny are transphobic sexist racists and we are shame' that would be different. It's more of a 'we're sorry that you feel offended by this thing that isn't technically offensive(ie. we didn't mean offense by it), but we can take it down for you'

I know I might sound a little negative and maybe even cynical, but honestly do you really think that those were two tweets will be just some isolated incidents and that something similar won't happen again any time soon ? especially now that some peoples will start scrutinize everything you (you as in CDPR / Gog ) post, I wouldn't be surprised if as we speak some peoples are going through all of those 500+ old tweets you mention in hope of finding something else that they could even remotely consider offensive.

Again that might sound cynical and it probably is but we live in a time were some bad jokes you posted on Twitter X years ago can get you fired and dumb meme end up being considered as "hate symbol".

They already did, and nothing turned up bar some desperate attempt to link a joke about being a parent to kidnapping.
This is getting pretty bad now. I feel like it's akin to an american vs european culture shock in some ways. Current american political and gaming culture is getting more and more extreme and prude for the grimdark laugh culture in here.
