kohlrak: Well, as an old friend of mine said: "If a company is not explicitly conservative, it will always start veering to the left." To be fair, i think there's a psychological reason for this (more to do with how leftism generally generates sales [except when it's obviously they're filling in checkboxes]), but I still hate it. At the same time, we can't expect a company to be politically neutral, either, because that's untenable. I just hope the cyberpunk game ends up alot like the witcher, and i really hope that if they do this one thing i've heard fans ask for (at least regarding the witcher), people see it for what it really is instead of pretending that it's leftist pandering.
NOTE: What i'm referring to is that there were quests for a game focused around ciri, with the presumed feature that you can bang both men and women since she's bi. I foresee this being a feature of cyberpunk, except without ciri. This could end up being considered pandering.
ChrisGamer300: I get what you are saying and yes in this day and age it could be seen as pandering by some but i personally don't think it should be seen pandering as long as they only add options to a futuristic game but imo it all comes down to how you handle it and the context of it in the game rather than making it a possible option to pursue such relationships and it would be a shame to see the game suffer for it.
I couldn't care less about sex and romances in a game though, that's not why i play games so i really hope it manages to avoid controversy in that regard.
The ay things are going, each witcher game has had "better sex scenes" over the last. I imagine they'll continue going in this direction. As such, just like some people bashed skyrim for it, i'm betting people will accuse CDPR for doing it, especially when they are being apologetic on twitter and even bringing in unapologeticly left-leaning games (grave digger was the most recent, at least based on it's own summary, but there were others). Which, i think it's wrong to not publish the content just because you disagree politically (morally is another issue, and although they seem close, they can very much be different), but not everyone holds the same opinion as I.
kohlrak: I've noticed from the forums that GOG's customer base does include SJWs, so we're just being silly with this. However, it is wise to note that placating keyboard warriors doesn't make the BS go away, if they even can be placated. If you piss someone off for political reason (other than honestly doing something stupid), then the apology will likely not placate the people you piss off, but also piss off everyone else. Kind of like ripping out a barbed arrow.
neojames82: Well, I honestly think the audience for Cyberpunk 2077 probably isn't geared towards the SJW crowd anyway and that they are, in my mind, a very small minority in the gaming world. Though I do agree with your points about trying to appease these fools. They will never be satisfied and, as you said, it will only cause more damage apologizing to them.
From my understanding, SJWs are reading Fifty Shades, so i doubt they're boycotting the witcher. It makes sense, then, that all those people are going to transition to Cyberpunk 2077.
kohlrak: I hate the censorship of social media, but Discord is no hero.
neojames82: No, Discord themselves have been accused of gate keeping as well. Sadly, there never will be a perfect social media solution, or there is one, which is just not to use them. XD
if you'd like, i can show you that they sell your information. I don't know if it includes credit card data and what not, but can show you that they are sending 3rd parties all kinds of stuff, even though i can't tell you what. They deny this in their privacy policy, but you can see it from the "desktop version" just by looking at some of the files in a hex editor.
EDIT: The secret to avoiding censorship is to decentralize as much as humanly possible. So Teamspeak would be ideal over discord, for example. Blockchain tech would be even better, but that can be broken faster than people normally believe. I have an idea of a solution, too, but I would need help from experienced coders to make special drivers.
