DAM

What’s it matter it is a DAM game if there want to use body type they can as IT IS THERE GAME not yours.

In the future who to say you cannot just have removable Body parts down there to be whatever you want?

Originally it was about the nontroversy that the male and the female option in Cyberpunk 2077's character creation don't have a big fat "M" and "F" next to them anymore, while visually still being clearly identifiable and distinguishable as male and female.

At some point it spiraled out of control and utterly off-topic. Business as usual.

TRUE, but, you can't + or - when you are banned, so no one can blame me for it come Monday (and I'm guessing for the next twelve months) when it keeps happening. :D

People use the down vote just to be mean

But I for one done care about the rep thing (as you can see by my low rep)

If you down vote some one that don't agree with you, you’re the problem with this forums

"Zangief saying: Labels not make you happy. Good. Bad. Rrgh. You must love you."

Why do so many care what others think of themselves, or what others think of them? Just be you. Don't worry if someone else doesn't get it. If you feel like you're one of 2 genders and that gender and sex mean the same thing, then the only way you're threatened is if you don't feel YOU fit this mold. By the same token, if you feel like you're a zebra striped leopard (not a tiger, mind you) then why do you care how they see you? It's like we're feeding this pointless conflict for nothing, both groups of people seem to be threatened over... what?

Fear. Fear of loss of identity. Both groups are fighting to preserve their social and public identity. But guess what: That cis gender straight white woman doesn't take away from the transgender Hispanic man. Just like the cross-dressing white man doesn't take anything away from the straight black woman. They can all exist in the same worl--

You know what. Fuck it.Y'all just want to fight over this don't you?
Why are you so wrapped up in other people's deficiencies?

The world is literally going to hell in a handbasket, but I'm having the best year of my entire life, and you know why? Because I'm focusing on things I *can* change, rather than things I can't.

Stop giving other people the power to make you miserable -- unless you want to be miserable, in which case, carry on. o.O

Some people really do seem dedicated to being miserable, on both sides. The vast majority of people read a quick headline of this type of stuff, chuckle, then go play with their kids or whatever.
Be kind to your fellow gog users my dudes!

DadJoke007: Screw it, it won't contribute to anything to reply.
This comment is not about you, its just how I also feel after participating a little in threads like these. You can ignore it and I just feel that your action, the one to not discuss things further inside the thread is simply the correct choice to make.

I'm kinda inclined to not respond to the things aimed at me as well because I feel that these discussions will head into nowhere anyway. Especially those who say that I'm emotionally loaded even though I'm basically a living Excel sheet or something like that and I have no horse in this race anyway, as they like to say. I'd rather want to write about the nature of Cyberpunk and the philosophies regarding transhumanism then making it about real world minority groups. I think discussing K. Dick and Asimov is more fruitful towards these discussions and I'm 100% certain that the storywriters of Cyberpunk 2077 know a lot of these stories and the underlying philosophies which basically the only reason why I'm considering buying this game once its out. Theres simply not enough Cyberpunk games out there then there are novels about such a widely spread subject matter.

I wouldn't mind responding to some of the stuff that people have to say but then stuff like "you're emotionally loaded" are getting thrown around like its a high school drama club or something. If people want to discuss sociological science or even the science of genetics then provide papers and discuss those instead of blaming large groups of random minorities.

Personally I feel that transpeople or any minority group ever isn't as large as the subject matter of Cyberpunk which often includes the philosophies about transhumanism (which has a vast tendency to be a good thing) and hypercapitalism (which has a vast tendency of being a bad thing) which affect every person and not just any minority group. I mean the trend towards transhumanism already began to accelerate with the introduction of the internet itself.

And besides, why are people so ignorant about the saying "Stupid people talk about people. Average people talk about events. Intelligent people talk about ideas"? I feel that a lot of flamewars could be resolved by trying to tackle the crux of the matter, which is the topic of transhumanism and why it is (or isn't) important, instead of talking about random happenings or stuff people read on social media which only serve as anecdotes at best.

But on the other hand, if people don't choose to discuss things then I doubt there will ever be a change of hearts and minds. At least when it comes to stuff that are as some insignificant as video game development decisions (compared to big global political changes that involve and affect a whole huge host of people). The trend towards more diversity in many ways in general is a faily well established scientifically and historically grounded topic. This stuff is even established within evolutional theory. People simply can't escape a more diverse and tolerant future even if they fight against it and did so in fact for many thousand years already, most importantly I suggest to read through the history of the many different types of revolutions/uprisings in Europe and later America to see where I'm coming from.

At any case, discussing philosophical matters more dry isn't as interesting as flamewars though I guess but on the other hand in this particular instance is ironically caused by transhumanist philosophy itself simply because the internet serves as a decent vessel to point out that people are equal. Thus pretty often the "loudest voices" seem to happen to be read the most simply because it stands out. Whether or not these voices happen to tell the truth however has to be seen yet.

You make good points(and mention a movie that made another good point....that sometimes being bad guy doesn't mean one is a BAD GUY).

The only problem is some want to make others do and think as they say under the law....and to me that is BS and worth fighting to prevent.

dgnfly: You can write all those facts but you should already know that by now people judge on feelings, not facts, so what you're doing right now is nothing more than talking towards people that live in an echo chamber. Any science on the subject is banned because anybody that tries to expose the facts is Transphobic kinda like so many factual statements that are Taboo simply because they might hurt somebodies feelings.
It reminds me of this one stonetoss comic where a kid asks his dad why some dogs are differently shaped and the guys says because they are different races, and when the kid asks why some breeds are dumber overall than others the dad says "It's due to purely economic reasons".

The point being as you said: You cannot even speak such as part of your job as a scientist/etc without it being called all sorts of names by some, and those same people have a ton of influence over others via media/etc.

DadJoke007: Indeed. Putting "woke" in the title was the forum equivalent of doing this.

"Warriors! Come out to play-ay!"
To be fair, such titles can also draw attention to serious issues(this was NOT one of them btw) if used correctly.

Lord_Kane: Like to just show how much of a non-issue this is, One Angry Gamer, a semi-alt-right progamergate site, really hasnt even reported on this. and if they arent angry about it, then yeah.

why be angry?
Good points....but I wish you and others wouldn't frame such sites unfairly(using alt-right and gamergate to paint both as being related and/or bad....etc).

Yes, and the Pacific Ocean is semi-wet.
Because calling a site alt-right means they are such.....only fools and those without a leg to stand on use such debate ending tactics.

tinyE: And for the LAST TIME!

Would someone please tell Johnny Storm there that if I want shit from him, I'll just squeeze his head.

I swear, the forum used to be one of the strong suits of GOG, now it's a fucking cesspool, and dickless over there seems hell bent on proving that not only should abortion be legal, in some cases it should be mandated.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a ban to be given, and I can't tell you how happy I am to be getting it.
To all: I only reply to this to save it in case Tiny tries to change it.

See, I never say people should've been aborted...ever.....yet Tiny seems to think he's better than me and that it's ok to do so....take that as you will.

As I said before and other did somewhat, it's more about the possible pandering being done just to placate our groups(LGBT) and make a buck, rather than what OP was saying.

Question to ponder: The fighting in here aside, if they wanted to really be nice to such groups why not go further and why did they just remove the male or female tags from the screen?

To me this is a lackluster attempt to sell a few more copies and not to be nice.....although I also think OP/etc blew it way out of hand with boycott/etc suggestions and bad words.

If it wasn't the setting would you still be
saying the same thing? Your argument on this post falls apart if the setting were changed.

The problem as I see it with anyone blowing off anyone's arguments as dumb/nonsense/crazy talk just makes it easier to not confront the possibility(however slight) that such people might be justified or right if even just a bit, and helps some maintain their cognitive dissonance/bias.

Inaction is still bad to some extent, as it doesn't solve any problems and just tries to sweep them under the rug.

While we don't always agree, I like your well thought out replies and often +1 them to show it....even when we might not agree fully I always admire how you have the courage and dedication to speak your mind and do it civilly...so kudos and thanks for that.
