I personally think some people misinterpret the outrage, so they removed the sex gender option for a body type were you can mix and match however you want, big deal? not if they had show these options from the very first trailers, game play, info dumps etc. But the fact stand and will always stand that they changed to body types only after journos and lefties complained about it, this is something you cannot deny in anyway possible.

yes, that is the reason not because of the feature itself but when and how they changed it, people are simply tired of this " bending the knee", a good example are achievements in Wow that have been in the game for years only to be changed to pander sjw, no one would have cared as much if it was released that way instead.

Then there are those that say " oh, but SR4 had these features.." yes but lets be honest here the "sjw community" wasn't nearly as active as it was then as it is now and had no impact in that game, they simply developed the game that way from the very beginning.
Or they say that but the in-game culture is all about "body modification" sure but still that feature was not there at the start or part of the early active development cycle especially now in it's debugging phase. ( I am sure some parts were there after all those in-game ads with futa/herm or trans (whatever people call it now)character) but I mainly meant the character creation.

So am I disappointing of this new change, yes. But not for the reason you think, but because they let them self be controlled and once a change is made in the name of "diversity" only more will come.

If you have read to this point, then know that I have nothing against trans etc my cousin is one and I really don't care because it does not hurt me personally..
But at the same time I will always stand for real facts, real science and real genders, but hey CP 2077 is just a video game.
So I am sure if there will be mod support, we know which one will be the top downloaded.

btw this could all have been avoided by having the character creation as it was, but by simply adding "create new gender" or something of the like but NOPE

1st bit above: This 100%...they did it AFTER the main dev was done and not during it, and also "oddly enough" AFTER the outrage started. That combined with how lackluster and slapdash the change is makes me leane towards this being pandering and not just design choice.

2nd bit above- Nude mods? Not joking....I think that'll be one of the top if not THE top DLd mod for such a game...as with many other games.

3rd bit above- That would've been too much work. This was the easiest for them to pull off while polishing the game in terms of time/money spent.
I didn't consider it possible, but this thread got worse.

Dray2K, StingingVelvet, and a few others made civil comments and improved the quality of the thread.

If you think that's still bad let's see you add some quality material to the thread.

Oh no, don't you try to drag me into this cesspit of a thread. Just glancing at the comments is killing my mood. :/
Just imagening what happens once I engage in the discussion gives me the shudders.

I was just making an observation that your appraisal of the thread was off/misleading. :|

Also the point stands: If the conversation is not to your liking then mold it your liking, or else it's all just posturing.

1. You already did, technically.

2. It can't hurt if the thread is as bad as you say it is...it might actually improve it....you never know.

richlind33: Stop giving other people the power to make you miserable -- unless you want to be miserable, in which case, carry on. o.O
avatar
StingingVelvet: Some people really do seem dedicated to being miserable, on both sides. The vast majority of people read a quick headline of this type of stuff, chuckle, then go play with their kids or whatever.
A lot of our media these days seems dedicated to winding people up, and more than a few of us are willing to go along for the ride.

In the end we all live very short lives compared to the age of the universe....if we get wound up it isn't so bad if we do so for the right reasons & we can achieve actual good out of doing so.

Good news! I don't know if this is already posted in the thread (as I'm a bit lazy to claw through all the pages), but the ordeal is indeed a slight overreaction. What happened is, it's clear that the game journalist had asked a question that puts CDprojectRed in a bit of a rock and a hard place, and CDPR didn't want to let anyone down.

However, the game itself will be on the same trajectory as planned and here's proof of that. Apparently, the "body/gender" that you pick will still affect the options that you will experience in the game. If you pick a male, relevant interactions will be male-specific and if you pick a female character, you will get treated differently in equally relevant instances. We will not be genderless or sexless.

What CDPR was planning, is to simply add on some options on top of the ones already there. I think it's not a bad idea to add on, instead of taking away.

Agreed to the last bit and the extra info is appreciated.

Still, the bit about journos putting them in a difficult spot shows it was pandering and done to calm them down.....imo more choice is good but they should've added it to be nice not to calm "journalists" down.

lonewolfgk: Well thats it, bye bye CD Project Red.

I cannot believe CD Project Red went WOKE .

gog is not the right place for this type of garbage heres some sites that have that type of garbage, twitter.com, reddit.com and youtube comments go there if u wanna bitch about minor crap in games, you are the reason gaming is going down hill cos u get offended so easily by shit, grow a damn spine

Nicole28: *snip*
Oh, guess thats good as well. Though thats far more effort than just letting playing filling out the gaps instead, which would also be nice :).

At any case its still a win-win for everyone. More roleplaying inside a role-playing game is always good, though a "undefined" gender might be nice as well. I mean its still Cyberpunk after and we also don't really know anything about the story yet. There is a small possibility that there might be a questline where you can enhance/augment so much of your body that you basically become, well, a robot/cyborg rather than just someone with a few implants. There is tons of possibilities that CDPR can tackle with the idea of augmentation and transhumanism but I'm also excited to see what the villians be like and what their roles are.

There is simply no way CDPR aren't well read about this stuff and IMHO I have the suspicion that a lot of dev time went into simply just planning out the game and trying to understand Cyberpunk past the usual mainstream stuff, just like how The Witcher games isn't your regular fantasy franchise.

While OP was wrong and very crude, some of those sites would say gtfo for such as well. With that in mind, where are such people to go then? Where are any who hold not popular stances to do if everyone says go somewhere else?

Just some food for thought/

True, but if the person you quoted is accurate then they did it after the fact after journalists complained and not beforehand as part of the design process.
