It's not pandering, you galaxy brains. If anything, it's the opposite: give it a few years, perverts will start crying about how body modification is cultural appropriation and only they should be able to access it (I mean, this is kinda happening with body hair removal, which women have to pay for but sex offenders get for free in some places and even demand to get it performed on them by unwilling female victims). Sex offenders also count on being the only exceptions to sex segregation to commit crimes of opportunity; once everyone can be big and tough (or small and tough), they're shit out of luck.

Remember when there was a shitstorm about the in-game ad, and every game journo assumed the model portrayed was a man? Exactly. In their world, dick = male = sex offender, because that's what they and their friends are, and no-dick = female = victim. But from the context of the picture, how it uses a prominent dick on an otherwise ideal female form to advertize a customizable drink, it's obvious that the dick is artificial, it's the thing that's customized. "Add delicious extra flavor to our already delicious drink, just like we added this sexy dick to this already sexy woman." In 2019, female aggression mostly hides behind affirmative action - also a fertile soil for perverts stacking on privilege. There no one to leech off and no one to creep on in Cyberpunk.

Do you select your character's chromosomes? No? Then it's not sex and definitely not "gender", it's body type. No one gives a damn about how you "identify" -- everyone's identity is a 2048-bit integer, and you have to maintain authenticity / anonymity as the situation demands. (I guess you can identify as 'deadbeef' if that's a part of your uuid. Everyone is deadbeef, really - it's just that kind of world.) You can attach a second head and pump your ass full of industrial silicone, and people will still try to identify you and associate your debts and your crimes with you. (Also, pin their own crimes on you.) No "it's hate speech to mention how i raped kids because i changed my name, teehee".

Once again: perverts are shit out of luck in that world. When cyberpunk happens irl, they won't like it at all.

I'm very happy with sex-independent voice choices, too bad there are only two - what if I hate both? In some new-gen big RPG (Eternity? Tyranny?), every female voice for the protagonist (they had a bunch) were bitchy, but there were no restrictions so I just picked a 'male' voice for my female character which sounds exactly like I sound to myself live.

The people who claim that there are *no* problems with respect to gender fluidity are almost as ignorant and/or dishonest as the people who demonize it. Both camps are populated with intolerant extremists that have worn out their welcome.

"Gender" and "sex" can be synonymous, depending on usage, which raises issues that need to be addressed by people who are capable of and willing to engage in reasoned discussion aimed at finding practical solutions. People from either of the above mentioned camps NEED NOT APPLY.
