What makes you think the others can't devalue their own currency? You improve the economy of a country by innovating not by defending the status quo of a failed industry. Don't you people see that exactly this is the problem in the western world? Everyone defends their failures.

They can but it's not always desirable, it increases costs of imports for one, which can increase inflation. And that's why the EU and the US didn't devalue. It doesn't change the fact that Greece and Michigan suffered from the high value of their currency. Chinese products aren't necessarily innovative or high quality, often they're low quality but their lower currency allows them to beat everyone on price

I am amused by the tyranny of an organization that cannot keep any country that wants to quit from quitting.
I think the EU needs to go back to being the Common Market.ie, an organization meant to encourage trade and get rid of stupid barriers to trade,and stop trying to be some central European government,but a lot of the opposition to the EU expressed here is tin foil hat conspiracy nonsense,and blind "Fuck the Establishment" attitude. Anybody comparing the EU to the USSR is so incredibly ignorant that his opinions on this should be ignores.
And rampant nationalism, with every European country hating it's neightbors ,is not a great idea either.

There are only some minority political groups that want to speculate with the immigration problems, i am not sure where you heard about hate, but EU countries don't hate each other, there are some issues due to head of states being utter idiots and not wanting to collaborate or respect existent treaties, plus mpaa and riia representation bullshit trying to completely annihilate all freedoms that we have, fortunately they are failing

Also no tin foil hat anywhere, industrialist groups are trying to forcefully subdue national controls and override EU regulations, they are attempting this shit for years, like removing our chemical safety regulation to force internet filters at THEIR discretion, again utter failures but that doesn't stop them fro trying

I don't care. My father's English (has been living in Germany for 40 years though) and is pretty obsessed about the whole thing...even though he's very right-wing in general, he's against Brexit (not least because he had to take German citizenship because of it which he didn't really want to). But I don't care either way. Many of the leaders of the Brexit campaign are total assholes in my opinion, someone like Farage with his whole sucking up to Trump and the Americans is just despicable. But I sort of understand why many people voted for Brexit...I strongly dislike the EU in its current form myself, and "United states of Europe" sounds like a nightmare to me. So I'm neutral about the whole issue.

War between European countries is mostly out of the question if you ask me...only thing I can think of is some sort of conflict with Russia (hopefully unlikely) or something in the Balkans. If armed conflict comes to Western Europe again, it will almost certainly be some form of civil strife or internal insurgeny within states.

Good on Britain for going their own way instead of being told how to govern themselves by an international organization. But it's still rather hypocritical to withdraw from the EU because of sovereignty, yet still have their military under the overall command of another international organization (NATO), it makes it seem that Brexit supporters are just right-wingers who like being under the influence of right-wing America, but not left-leaning Europe.
