GlorFindel: Oh, I see how the "Rep Trolls" are working hard on this thread lately.
But, no matter, I vote for
A, as I did before and suggest the name of new thread to be "Boycotting GOG 2022-20XY"
And on a side note: I came with name for that possible new thread, when my parents, who are now in early 70s, wrote their names on our family grave with year of their birth, which is 1949 with "-" in the middle and 20 and two empty spaces, so we (my brother and I) can just add the last two numbers.
It's also, fitting for GOG, as currently GOG is on a downward spiral to its own death!
I'm not even boycotting, I just dislike limits on my use of a software so I don't use Galaxy, and I'm strongly opposing too much involvement of someone who just wants revenues and is not in the gaming or at least game-selling branch (so vague news of large stock of CDPR bought by pure-financial Goldman-Sachs is a bad factor to me, much more than a single GoG new policy or limit on users).
Why don't simply omit the year? You've been discussing an opinion, not an event.
And why not soften it a bit converting this to "User complaints about this service" instead? Boycott is always extreme, kinda like a divorce. You first try to discuss, to step back, then to argue. It's stil my beloved GoG, it's just turned quite sour recently.
Elkinda: I am a lurker showing my support.
I decided to start boycotting GoG for a multiple of reasons, mainly porn games.
I will not:
Buy any games from GoG
Use GoG Galaxy
Play any games on my account (ouch)
Visit the website besides the forums
Probably something else i forgot
Long Life Zoom!
Leevi: Actually, you should play games from GOG, download them and play them. You paid for them already and when you download them, it costs money for GOG. Same thing goes with using the site, costs some tiny amount of money for GOG when you use their services. Just don't give them the pleasure of using the GOG Client (I forget the name).
Don't agree with your main reason, but then again, I have no idea what sort of porn games, or games at all GOG has been releasing this year.
I agree. You're just redeeming previous purchases, in a way so that you don't always need the vendor's approval in the future, also.
It's just symbolic and...pointless. Here, we have a saying about these over-the-top, frankly holier-than-thou approach that visibly backfires on the side that's already unhappy: "hurting yourself to make your partner sorry" (loose translation of a more nasty original).
You don't have to
