2 things I wanna say

1. I honestly hate Gaming's over dependence on the internet and online connectivity.

Can't play your games without first logging into your account in a online service.

Its dumb when its for even older games.

2. You can't be a Pro-DRM-Free stance while also offering your game to your DRM competitor.

I've always found it strange CDProjeckt RED sells their Witcher games on Steam (and ironically more people bought Witcher 3 on Steam then on GOG as far as I know) and yet Steam doesn't offer their games like Half Life on GOG.

While we seem to mostly agree I think only drm G.O.G or other drm-free based game platforms can/should be allowed is for online multiplayer gameswhen starting multiplayer because of servers and you know programs to prevent cheating are drm based. But otherwise no DRM at all is my view

I said it before and I will say it again:
when you ignore account requirement from Steam * then there's no such thing as "enforced DRM" on Steam.
There's plenty of games there that are "DRM free after downloading".

Also, offering a game "DRM free after downloading" is certainly better than putting an actual DRM in it.

Since when is Valve obligated to release their games on some other platform just because someone using Valve's platform for releasing their game also has self owned platform?

Also, usually overlooked fact, Valve had DRM override switch in almost all of their games since basically always.

I, unlike many others, see both what Valve did right and wrong.
I am merely stating facts.

To (A): Of course you can be pro DRM-freedom and still offer your product on a DRM supporting platform.
At the end of the day, the paying customers will decide, if they think of DRM-freedom as important as you do.

We (that's general "we", not we as in "the two of us") already had this conversation here on GOG a few years ago - and at that time, some people claimed, CDPR would simply have to sell their games exclusively on GOG, then the customers would follow.

I don't think that's true.
Want "evidence"? Simply look at how many GOG users claim to never play games that are (or even just have been in the past) EPIC or Steam (or Origin, UPlay, PS, XBox, Switch) exclusives.

That "boycott mentality" works both ways.
And in case you don't believe that to be true for customers of other stores, well...then you can't believe it to be true for GOG customers, either.

To (B): What's strange about that?
CDPR offers their games on Steam, because that's where the vast majority of gamers is, in other words: that's where the most money is.

CDPR is a profit oriented business after all, not a non-profit welfare organization.

And for the same reason, Valve isn't offering their games on GOG.

Haven't done a proper count, but I know i'm well over $200 worth of purchases down at this point.

Edit: Ok, simply going by the current sales, and not accounting for impulse buys or a few games that I would have paid full launch price for... I have refrained from spending $435 on GOG.

Indeed. Most of the issues here, like the forum, download options, changelogs, update parity, missing content, have been around for years without even so much as an acknowledgement by GOG, so they are hardly going to bother acting. The only thing that gets even the remotest look is galaxy.

As for me, my wish list of lost sales is at 533, most of which I would have brought at some point. So a fair amount of sales lost and no plans to invest any more here at the moment.
