He's right you know, if you buy something for no other reason then it's on sale, you didn't actually save any money. "Saving money" means to spend less money on something you were going to buy anyway. You weren't going to buy those, so you saved nothing, you just spent $9.
I`m waiting for games that I like and then I`ll load my gun!
These kind of promotions don't pair very well with being a Linux user, but nonetheless I couldn't resist the urge and I picked a mystery game. Result: Gone Home, a game I already owned on Humble but which I never got to work properly. GOG's version, on the other hand, works like a charm.

And this is not the first time something like this happens to me, I could tell you the same about The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief: I owned it previously both on Humble and on ShinyLoot, and both of them crashed instantly when I tried to run them. GOG's version just worked out of the box.

So hooray for GOG! Even if only because they actually do what any other digital store should be expected to do: to damn test what they are selling in order to see if it bloody works (and not delegate this duty to their customers).
Kinda tempted to give the mystery game a spin. I didn't really have great luck the last time I picked up a mystery game here though.

Although from the games people are mentioning there might be a bigger chance of me picking up something I'll be interested in this time.

Edit: Got Crusader Kings Complete. Which isn't bad...but I've already played Crusader Kings 2. :S Is there much to experience from this that you can't already get from the second one?

I don't think GOG likes me when it comes to these mystery deals. I'll have to keep my past two experiences in mind for the third time such a deal shows up.

truhlik: Any new titles in mystery game today? Or list is same as yesterday
Given that there are 55 titles on the list (i.e. a lot) and given that GOG has not mentioned any plans to change the lineup during the sale, I see no reason to assume that the list will change significantly.

Why does this sound so dirty?

I've had similar experiences. GoG's packages are usually more reliable, that's why sometimes I get games here that I already had in bundles. Hopefully there'll be a Linux version of "Waking Mars" here someday that is more stable than the one from HumbleB. Of course there are also some that don't work well (Bard's Tale, Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms), but the majority does.

I was referring to this statement in Winter sale OP
"We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale"
So that was why I asked.

So I looked at the list of games.

I am NOT risking getting A golden Wake. I'd sooner jump into a vat of acid after drinking a bottle of smallpox culture.

I'm still not convinced to join the mysteries either ;-)
After looking at the list of games here I decided to give it a try. So I got:
Elminage Gothic
Train Fever
Brutal Legend

I know they're are not the worst games but I wasn't really looking for any of those, so you might say I saved some money but I wouldn't have paid for them, especially Brutal Legend that I got in a Humble Bundle (DRM Free included). But hey! I knew it was my risk.

RWarehall: Closest thing to a "tracking" thread, so figured I would share this year's Big Winter Sale Spreadsheet.
Might help some people see what bundles might or might not still be coming...
GoG 2015 Big Winter Sale Tracker
Thanks! I was actually thinking about starting a general sale tracking thread, since I hadn't seen one yet, but I don't suppose there's any point now. =) +1 for your effort.
Only one thing: in your researching for that spreadsheet, did you happen to notice which games/DLC are on sale that DON'T appear somewhere in the Winter Sale section on the front page?

'Post-dicting'?
I always seem to get crappy adventure games (anything from Daedalic) that I hate when doing these luck based purchases,

zeroxxx: Jade Empire is On The House right now. I'd be so pissed if I got it on a random roll. >_>

DubConqueror: Just read the EA license agreement of Jade Empire on Origin: at least with GOG you don't have to give consent to them spying on your computer like you have to do with JE on Origin.
I have no wish to derail this thread with spying and what not argument, unfortunately.

I have no problem with Steam, uPlay, Bnet, let alone Origin.

I'm not DRM hater or privacy paranoid.

That's all I can say.
