Maxvorstadt: I`m waiting for games that I like and then I`ll load my gun!
muntdefems: These kind of promotions don't pair very well with being a Linux user, but nonetheless I couldn't resist the urge and I picked a mystery game. Result:
Gone Home, a game I already owned on Humble but which I never got to work properly. GOG's version, on the other hand, works like a charm.
And this is not the first time something like this happens to me, I could tell you the same about
The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief: I owned it previously both on Humble and on ShinyLoot, and both of them crashed instantly when I tried to run them. GOG's version just worked out of the box.
So hooray for GOG! Even if only because they actually do what any other digital store should be expected to do: to damn test what they are selling in order to see if it bloody works (and not delegate this duty to their customers).
I've had similar experiences. GoG's packages are usually more reliable, that's why sometimes I get games here that I already had in bundles. Hopefully there'll be a Linux version of "Waking Mars" here someday that is more stable than the one from HumbleB. Of course there are also some that don't work well (Bard's Tale, Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms), but the majority does.
