No doubt they hope that by tying DOOM up with this shit they're going to establish enough of a user base to make it viable. But given how buggy, unstable and generally featureless clients usually are on release and how demanding a game like DOOM is going to be for multiplayer, in terms of things like matchmaking etc, this has potential to really implode dramatically.

Azhdar: Does it affect Bethesda-GOG relationship?
Given how Bethesda won't even release anything on GOG that is newer than 12 years old, I'd say that the Bethesda-GOG relationship will remain every bit as wonderfully stagnant as it is today.

The thing about the Nexus is that they immediately bend over backwards to act on any Author's complaint - whether that be copyright or harassment. I don't envision this happening with Bethesda, the same company that tends to ignore and forget about well-known bugs in their hiking simulators, leaving it to others to sort out themselves.

Unless DOOM 2016 is seeing a gog release on the 13th, I dont see this affecting it.

mechmouse: Currently the PC gaming environment is dominated by one company. There is no competition and with out competition there is no choice. Without choice, consumers have a dramically lower ability to influence the environment.
Depends how they handle it. If it's like EA/Valve where they just take their games and keep them exclusive to their own platform it doesn't add any choice. If it's like Uplay and they still sell on the other platforms but just make it go through their own launcher, that gives more choice.

Ideally you'd be able to buy a game and have the choice to link it to any platform you'd prefer (GOG/Steam/Uplay/Bethesda.net, whatever. Only 1 copy of course). That would be choice.

Shadowstalker16: Looks like they're making a client and launcher like Staem and Orgyne and UPay. What do you think?

xSinghx: I think - I mentioned it a while ago:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/bethesdanet_the_new_drm_platform_for_zenimax/page1

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/bethesda_hasnt_given_up_on_paid_mods_or_giving_modders_the_short_end_of_the_stick/page1

And I think Siannah is probably sitting down somewhere trying to remove both feet from his or her mouth.
Have to disappoint you as despite all "indications" brought up in the past up to now, including the video in the OP - I still don't see the client nor the additional DRM.
Fact is: I can still start and play Fallout 4, without logging in or having to use Bethesda.net, not even as a launcher.

As soon as I click on the new "Mods" tab, then I need to log into Bethesda.net - which is kinda a given. If Bethesda wants to join those who provide mods (which is a stated aim, especially for consoles), you'll need an authentication to manage those users. However, do I need to use it if I want mods? 10k mods on the Nexus alone prior to the release of modding tools, tells me a clear no.

Still waiting for any sort of prove (from you or anyone else) that relies on facts instead of guesswork.

No one is saying anything is conclusive. Bethesda hasn't said what they intend to do with this and until then, we'll have to wait for something concrete, as you said.
I just dont care,i dont.i will never again have any account beyond this one on GOG.as far as im concerned, every new game can have their own client

I agree, as I said it would be nice if Bethesda sold other people software, but even if they don't having the choice for Bethesda software is better than no choice at all.

Of course to do that would need a kind of independent register of ownership.

I guess B will release Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion and Skyrim on GOG.

Hoping for some truth to those rumors! ;-)
I only bought Morrowind here from Bethesda.
if they make a good game and a drm-free platform I will consider buy new games from them, if they make an other steam I just don't care
