teceem: So your first response just ignores that this is Larian, a game developer not known for doing what you're describing?
devoras: Too many disappointments, almost nobody gets it right. I don't consider any company infallible anymore; there was a time when I thought any new bioware game was going to be amazing, any company can fall at any time. Also old game ips, movies and tv shows are being destroyed faster than I would have thought possible, to the point where I fully expect any new media based on an old ip is going to be garbage. Every now and then I'm wrong and it's a pleasant surprise, but not often.
Still, this game looks like it has potential, worth keeping an eye on.
I get what you're saying... but this topic is about a specific game, made by a specific developer - not about games in general "nowadays". Yes, it can turn out to be a cluster fuck - but so were many many games in the far past.
So, yeah, you sound a bit nostalgic... and old. ;-)
The way I think: the Baldur's Gate series were great games + Larian made great games = Nothing is certain, but there's a high probability for a positive outcome here. I don't see how this relates to e.g. the latest EA/Ubisoft/Bethesda/... published game.
