I think that it would be better for everyone to make the suggestions here, as it is we can also bump the thread as a whole, sorry if I don't view it as effective via chat message, even though if GOG Galaxy was more "deep" into the mechanics of having friends and such there should be a way to form group in orde to have the knowhow in the way of managing such things, then again, there might be threads of such nature in the forums themselves.

I would welcome it with open arms, it would also spark the interests of those who wish a type of game via the forums community and promote the interaction of it, I quite like the idea.

Now that a tangent and a answer has been given, I guess it's only fair to make the suggestion now, there should be a links presented to which those that can't enter if they have already gotten the game based on time, as it is, the batch is based on weeks or so? There should be a way to keep from giving into the same person repeatedly even if we can respectfully ask for a game, unless you want to keep it that way and have the same person deciding to come up in the batches on a row, but maybe I haven't read the first post at all and the way it may or not be edited, in the end, is also up to you OP.

A way to display it much more onto the participation and also enlarge the number of bumps per thread is using maybe a puzzle? let's say you have in the batches games that are of higher value than other titles, and if there ever comes to fruition the genre themed batches, you could make those of worth to be won through something else than just asking, but add a bonus as using a riddle in itself based on the forums or niche mean so to ensure more interaction adding also a bonus to getting the game instead of being let by chance, people could do both thing by asking for it and then trying to resolve it.

Anyways, I wish good luck for the other participants!

thanks for your suggestions, ill think about it. but for the extra participation, well i just lack the time and ideas currently (coz of work and other stuff in my private life) to come up with good ideas and especially riddles need a lot of time to be thought through

Aveweto: snip
It's up to you, but you can always ask for help on the riddles if you wish, you don't have to carry the whole thing alone.

Aveweto: What would think of game or genre themed batches?
Both are reasonable approaches. Game-themed might be a bit hit-or-miss, though, as beloved franchises could see a battle royale of entries while some other could go pretty much unnoticed. The risk for that would be lower with genre-themed, I guess.

Yeah, I agree, but I think even in genre-based people could just enter for the most famouse title of the batch.

as I'm currently roaming steamgifts discussions a bit, I've come across a rather common way there to make people work a little for their chance to enter a GA :) -> http://www.jigidi.com/
It's a place where you can easily create jigsaw puzzles (simply upload a pic to create it from) and have people solve that to get a secret message (in case of SG it's mostly the link to the giveaway but you could just display a codeword that people have to send you to be allowed to enter :)

Yesterday I had to solve a 300 pieces puzzle to enter in a GA. took me almost two hours (I don't really like jigsaw puzzles) but I was kinda proud to have done it and I even won two of the games :D it's something else than just saying "I'm in." , though I'm not sure if that's what you're aiming for... but if it is that's very easy on your time :)

I know but I got enough codes to do for example a star wars and a Resident Evil themed Batch

Yeah I know about those, helped someone with a few on the weekend, but for myself those Puzzles weren't really challenging as i've finished 8 of them within an hour :)

any other oppinions, ideas or game entries?
I know the rep requirement kicks me out of the giveaway, but if you're willing to work with me, I can provide you with some riddles you can use. I am the Puzzlemaster, after all. I could also theme the riddles if you like, and the type could range from actual logic puzzles to basic trivia questions.

I find sorted categories good when there are a large number of games presented at one time. Themed batches are more of a creative way to present a giveaway, but I don't find them to be more or less appealing--though it can be fun to see the OP's categorization especially if it's creative or uncommon.

As for the other topic, I generally prefer asking thought-provoking questions rather than just having participants state "I'm in". Not too strenuous on the participant and not hard to "judge" entries since you have a time constraint on reviewing them.

What can I say, the rent's cheap here and the people are friendly.
