NuffCatnip: No, but Sony and Microsoft are.

Prepare for the X-Station. :P
"Play-Box", maybe?
Good Old Steam.

CARRiON.FLOWERS: Yes. You should be very worried.

Key people behind GOG have left, and I heard a rumor that some of Valve's top men recently flew out to Poland to do business discussions with GOG.

GOG has radically changed their terms of service too. I mean, just LOOK at all those changes.

Back up your games OP. This ride is coming to a close.

Lord_Kane: Do you have any proof of this?
Yes. Here is my proof.

mattig89ch: Hidy ho all,

I recently saw GOG's anouncement for linking your steam and GOG account. And, you could get copies of games you already own on steam, on GOG.

And, I was filled with worry. I love GOG's business model. The whole thing of, you buy it and its yours. No activation, ect. It reminds me on the early days of gaming.

Valve's business model, is the oposite. Control, and monitoring of what you buy. And only purchasing the rights to play games, instead of the games themselves.

Now, I don't belive steam to be evil. I'm not a huge fan anymore, sure. But they have their purpose, and it is a convenient means of purchasing games.

But I have a preference for GOG's business model.

So my question, and worry, is: are GOG and steam merging?
Where do these people come from?

Is that supposed to be out of focus? :P

Man, you should warn people before you posts something like that. XD
Yep, they already have a baby called Humble Bundle.
Don't give them ideas! I love my DRM-free games, thank you!

...the same place they came from when GOG emerged out of beta, or when they introduced the "Bigger, Fresher, Newer" GOG and became "mainstream".

So it's just a rare invasion and the dolt horde will soon depart?
It is a valid question. When something like this occurs, naturally mergers or acquisition topics of discussions will be asked.

It means that there will be a lot of people posting a lot of repetitive questions about GOG, Steam, and Connect. It also means that there will be a lot of people posting a lot of repetitive Steam vs. GOG debate threads. It also means that there will be (a lot of?) people posting screaming tirades about how GOG decieved/lied to/tricked them into buying games, because they thought that buying a GOG game would automatically give them a Steam key.
Yep.

I'm tempted to take a week off...
