babark: They're rubbish and nobody wants them? :P

I dunno. I guess I don't care about those two, so they didn't enter my mind.

tfishell: The wishlist would disagree. My guess is Double Fine may be haggling with Disney to remake those also, but I've got no evidence to support this (other than Tim seemingly wanting to remake everything because $$$).
I believe this is one the reasons why they never got the Special Edition-treatment.

Wow, so many elitists here! In that case I have a couple other obscure things I want to ask about.

The only version sold here that I do have a problem with is Loom. Does anyone know the site that explains all the differences between the different versions? I used to have it bookmarked but I can't find it. I would like to play a game with the voices but without cutting content. I should also get around to listening to my Loom audio drama CD too.

The second thing I wanted to ask about is this twitter post. From this link it made it seem like we get a new version of the dig, but obviously there was nothing released on Monday.

IDPLAY: Nothing from the official side.

Personally i think/hope that the next wave arrives with the SW movie release in two weeks.
It would certainly be the perfect timing to release some new SW games. BTW, how many of them still remain to be released? Right now I only remember that Yoda Stories...

If you mean elitist as in me, well, I suppose I am opinionated on the issue (in that I think MI2 and 1 were incredible, and while 3 was a nice game, it wasn't MI in my mind, and EMI was rubbish). I only think SLIGHTLY less of people who don't share my opinion :P.

As for Loom, my understanding is that the old EGA version had close-ups of faces, the new VGA one had voice acting but no close-ups. There was apparently some combo version released that had both, but I don't know about that. I have no idea which one is on gog, but judging from the complaints in the reviews, it isn't the close-up one.

Maybe it was pushed back? Hopefully we're able to see alternative versions of the games already here (as well as important missing bonus content, like the Loom audio drama).

At the very least:

Battlefront 1
Droid Works
Episode 1: Battle for Naboo
Episode 1: Racer
Force Commander
Force Unleashed 1+2
Lego Star Wars
Pit Droids
Shadows of the Empire

Well my guess is that I will not like Escape From Monkey Island the second time through, but my plan is to play them all back to back next year (including Tales of Monkey Island) and see what my current opinion will be then.

This one is helpful, but it is not the website I was looking for. The one I am thinking of was a basic html site in black with a more detailed breakdown. Thanks though.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is missing as well.

Yep and that one is on Steam even.

I kid you not, that is exactly what I am waiting for. Just like I did with the Broken Sword games, I want to play all of the Monkey Island games back to back. .

babark: Full Throttle is the only adventure that is missing without any obvious reason. A remaster somewhere in the future? Or is it just the boring reason that the music makes the whole licensing thing a knotty issue?
I second your opinion. MI soundtrack seems to be more acoustic; something close to a studio creation, while FT uses an old band music as sound track. In fact, I remember a special edition that came with the band music.

To be honest, GOG has surprised me several times, so, I think they already have FT or at least, they are working on it to be release sometime (cross fingers).

I don't think that has much to do with it.
Most likely the reasons are technical. It was relatively easy (although not really necessary) to replace the Monkey 1 & 2 pixelart graphics with a more modern style while keeping the game engine underneath mostly untouched.

As for Monkey 3 it's a much more complicated process, as the graphics was cartoon style to begin with, so if they used the kind of graphics they used in MI1&2 remakes, it would actually be a step down from the original version. (That's what it actually was for MI1&2 actually, IMHO, but that can of course be debated...)
Simply upscaling the original graphics would end up messy, and redrawing everything would be very slow and complicated. For DOTT it's a bit easier, as the graphics of that game is less detailed than MI3.

As for Monkey 4, they would need to reprogram the whole thing... the game would need new controls, and new 3D models and all. Not to mention, if they somehow didn't fix that Monkey combat part, people would be complaining about that, so they would need to rethink the game flow puzzlewise too.
The Force Unleashed games are also on steam yet not here. I hope they'll come here too eventually.
