Specifically I am hoping for maniac mansion, and day of the tentacle.

I was reallly happy to see the ones added, especially zak mckraken but it doesnt seem like any new ones had been added for a while and I am really hoping for those 2. Any word on them?

Wait for the special edition of Day of the Tentacle to be released in the spring of next year. Doublefine is doing it so it should come here. It also includes the original version of Day of the Tentacle along with the ability to play the enhanced Dos version of Maniac Mansion on the computer.

Nope. Nothing official so far.

Why not just play the CD version, both are supported by ScummVM:

As for a remaster, well, they are hit and miss.
Nothing from the official side.

Personally i think/hope that the next wave arrives with the SW movie release in two weeks.

Full Throttle is the only adventure that is missing without any obvious reason. A remaster somewhere in the future? Or is it just the boring reason that the music makes the whole licensing thing a knotty issue?

What is the obvious reason for Curse of Monkey Island and Escape From Monkey Island not to be here?

They're rubbish and nobody wants them? :P

I dunno. I guess I don't care about those two, so they didn't enter my mind.

Okay, good to know that there wasn't something I missed. I have all the LucasArts adventures on CD so I used to play them with ScummVM, but now my new laptop doesn't have a disc drive so I am trying to re-buy them all here so I can always play them whenever I get the urge. I usually replay at least one of them a year but I have never replayed Escape From Monkey Island so I am looking forward to giving it another shot. I can see how people didn't like it but I had fun wtih it when it came out, excluding Monkey Kombat. Curse of Monkey Island on the other hand is in my top ten games of all time and definitely should be here!

The reason is that they never got the Special Edition-treatment. As you can see, GOG doesn't have the original versions of Secret of Monkey Island or Monkey Island 2, but the 2009/2010 special editions.

The solution in the meantime is to rip the discs you own to your harddrive. Or at least the important files that are needed for ScummVM to run them. That is what I do anyhow.

Awesome, I did rip the discs onto my old laptop and transferred them over. I know Curse runs fine on ScummVM because I have played it through that before but I think another program is needed to run Escape From Monkey Island.

I am okay with the special editions of Monkey Island 1 and 2 sold here because I use The Ultimate Talkie Edition and I prefer the nine verb interface in Monkey Island 1. This way you get the best of both versions.

The wishlist would disagree. My guess is Double Fine may be haggling with Disney to remake those also, but I've got no evidence to support this (other than Tim seemingly wanting to remake everything because $$$).

For Escape From Monkey Island (for the love of God, why do you want to replay that abomination? :P) you should use ResidualVM the same tool that was used to run the original Grim Fandango before the remaster came out.

Except for those who have trouble reconciling Dominic Armato's voice with Guybrush Threepwood :D.
