Recently the discord app (talking/calling/writing chat, like teamspeak+IRC+web chats+skype in one) introduced their own game shop, and they have these beautiful welcome page after running the app with large animated banner-ad/sub-page about some game, where one is killing teenagers...Almost sold me on it, would those be app/web-teen-designers, I would be killing them whole day... Looks basically almost like new GOG, just a bit more polished and less cluttered (as they promote 2 games in total I think, guessing from the 3 sec look I can stand).

Luckily for discord, their main task is providing chat, so all I have to do to avoid that monstrosity is to quickly click away from "general" tab into some particular "server" I want to check.

GOG can't afford that luxury, as it's main topic is selling games...

Thanks for the update. The blurry images was the same issue I had when I disabled the youtube stuff via script so I was well aware of the issue.

Another change you guys might want to make is to display the titles at all times, some of game pictures are very similar and make telling what the game is hard, especially base vs DLC or between different versions. You might also want to change the color from #999 to something darker like black maybe? That color on a light background it very hard on the eyes. Very simple changes to make.

I like the change. Since its no longer loading vids the site is so much faster for me. Also its so nice not to have to worry about hovering. Can we not just keep this?

You know, we only criticize Gog because we hold this store to a high standard and we want it to be... always better. Better than the competition, definitely. The new front page was a real bad move, but steps taken lately are in the direction of fixing it and it makes me hopeful. Also not every change was bad, for example the comparison between versions in the game card was a nice idea from the get-go. Hopefully in a few weeks we'll have again a store that will be almost unanimously deemed good or above.

What I mean to say is "Happy holidays Gog, and may 2019 be a great year for your customers, and, by extension, to you."

Yes, please keep the no-auto-videos please! It makes it possible for me to use the front page without having my use of the store derailed while trying to scroll.

An online store shouldn't make it frustrating to use their website. I ended up buying several games through the front page after the auto-video-playing was turned off just because I could take my time looking around without everything I tried to look at disappearing and changing into a video instead.

Now if they'd fix that on all the other pages, like the sale pages. They still have the videos.
Maybe it will just take a little time to fix the whole site.

So, when are you going to get around to looking into the main store page cause it doesn't load any of the games to browse that I can't add any games to wishlist or add it to cart. Also at the very top of the page doesn't show my account tab or the login. The only way I can log into my account is the support page. I am on IE 11.

I had to install Opera to get the GOG website to work right. I think Chrome also works (I don't use Chrome).
I believe a GOG representative has stated that IE, Firefox and Palemoon are no longer supported here. Might be the same thing for Edge.

Maybe someone can clarify this.

No Firefox is supported as long as it the latest version, I've had no issues with the latest version of Firefox. I think Edge works okay too (or it did the last time I tried it). Pretty much the major browsers all work as long as they are up to date.

Edge will eventually be replaced anyway because MS is building a new version based on Chromium, so it will function basically the same as Chrome: https://www.theverge.com/2018/12/6/18128648/microsoft-edge-chrome-chromium-browser-changes

I started to have an issue on Firefox over the last couple of days. Most of the graphic tiles on the front page don't show.

I get the top graphic for the sale then 8 games under the 'One day, one chance, great prices' section, then ALL the rest of the front page are just blank with the page selection tabs at the bottom of each section. I can select these tabs then for a milisecond or so i can 'see' the games icons but not select them.

It was in the 'See what's new' section i saw that Aven Colony is available but i can't select it (the graphic disappears too quick after selecting the page select thing).

When i go into the 'Store' i can't see Aven Colony in any of the sales. It's not in any of the filter options (like 'New Releases' etc).

So sadly i can not currently buy it.

I'm using Firefox (Quantum) 63.0.3 (32bit) for Linux Mint. That is the latest version for Linux i think (i have no update pending for Firefox it seems). I do have AddblockPlus and NoScripts installed but they are disabled for GOG.

Palemoon stopped working a long time ago on GOG so all i have left to try is Chromium on Linux.

EDIT: ok Chromium works:)

Version 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) Built on Ubuntu , running on LinuxMint

So i have 1 browser left on Linux that i can use GOG for! Please don't mess it up!

I stand corrected. I just tried and I can login with the latest Firefox but not PaleMoon. I tried with Firefox 3 or 4 weeks ago and had no luck. I guess GOG has fixed that part.

I'm running Win 7 so I can't say anything about any of Microsoft's browsers because you can't run the latest versions in Win 7.

I use Firefox (Quantum, v64.0) on linux, and I think the web does load correctly, would I give it enough time to finish loading and run all the JS scripts, so if you have missing images, maybe check somehow if they even loaded from GOG (maybe somewhere in page details, there used to be list of media files, although I'm not sure how much of dynamic JS fetched content is shown there), maybe try to do full reload first (Ctrl+F5) to see if it does change.

And make sure you have enough of resolution on your display, not sure if they already fixed it, but the front page was completely broken if the display was not wide enough. So if you did by accident turn Ctrl+mousewheel, and bump zoom to 100+%, you may suddenly experience missing tiles... I just tried it now on my setup, and around 115% zoom the page becomes broken ... (but this works also the other way, zoom-out under 100% if your display is too narrow, and you may get fixed look, just a bit tiny and inconvenient to use).

But, my point is, that I think latest Firefox should work well with GOG, and if it does not (after fixing everything on your side), it's temporary bug on their side, which they will try to fix once it will get noticed, the latest firefox is at this moment in the group of browsers to be supported by GOG devs.

The latest Firefox isn't compatible with any useful extensions. Why would you use Firefox if you can't have extensions? That's as pointless as drinking non-alcoholic beer.
