Syphon72: Thank you for this.
You're welcome!
PixelBoy: Heroic is great.
You can see games displayed there graphically, like GOG shelf, and you can toggle what the client is showing, Epic, GOG, Amazon Prime, or all at once.
The download is so unbelievably fast (at least for me) that I have sometimes thought there was some error, and the download was cut and corrupted, but nope, it really is superfast.
And so far all Amazon Prime games I have downloaded have been DRM-free.
The only problem I have had with it was when the computer crashed during download (not related to Heroic), and when I restarted Heroic, I couldn't get any game info from the store.
Solution: delete installed.json and let Heroic rewrite it, problem fixed.
Otherwise, nothing to complain about, although some new additional features could be nice, although not really needed.
Yes, it's really good.
I've experience this problem with Amazon Games being installed through Heroic, too. Many times they don't show as uninstalled if you remove the files manually instead of using the GUI.
But I know for sure that this is not a problem with Heroic, but with Nile. I tend to download the game and back it up manually, so the game would still show up in the installed.json file for Nile in its configs/login cache folder.
So if you use the command:
nile library list
The game will show as installed, even if you already removed the game from its installation folder manually.
I think this also happens with Heroic.
In Heroic though, it shows in the GUI as "Game Unavailable" or something like this, which can be easily fixed, as you explained, by deleting said file. Heroic will, then, automatically update its games list cache again.
mrkgnao: Thanks. Nile looks very promising. Heroic is not for me, as I don't use any GUI clients.
You're welcome!
If you need any help on how to use Nile, feel free to post your questions.
Its quite weird to use initially as there is not much documentation around.
