Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Lyrically & musically, this album told an amazing story of corruption in American government, and what could happen if the right person pushed the right buttons on the right people.

Getting some good tips here!

The first few that come to mind are:

Queen - Innuendo. OK, not every track on it is brilliant, some of it gets a little experimental for me. But when it's good it's so good. The Show Must Go On nails me hard every time I hear it.

The Sisters Of Mercy - Floodland. Had to include a Sisters album, but had a tough time choosing one. Ultimately though, Floodland has Lucretia My Reflection and This Corrosion on it...

Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe. Love his sound, and his classic horror theme.

Had to visit Youtube and listen to this album. Not bad, really not bad. Sounds a bit like Helloween, especially the singer and the drummer. I once read that the voice of the singer of Helloween (Michael Kiske) is a mix of the voice of Bruce Dickinson and the singer of Queensryche.

Oh, someone mentioned Queen?

I buy and listen to quite a lot of music, and these are among the best albums I've ever bought. It's a fairly eclectic mix of flavours/subgenres, but they're mostly some form of Rock/Metal.

Well, I never was a fan of Motörhead, I always found the music -and especially the voice of Lemmy- to be too "flat".

I love this album. Some really great songs on it.

It's the best stuff they ever did (so far), and I think that it will remain so. You can pick two or three great songs from any of their albums, but Nightfall is really one long absolutely perfect epic song...if Blind Guardian ever releases their version of LOTR soundtrack it might be as good as Nightfall, but I doubt that we'll ever get to hear it.

Perfect album, front to back.

Yeah, I know they're from Denmark. :) It's really hard for me to put my favourite bands in any kind of order, or pick a single "No.1" band, but if I had to, it would probably be VOLBEAT. There's so many great Scandinavian bands, which also includes Sister Sin, and various awesome Viking/Folk Metal bands.

And I didn't include German bands for the same reason, since I wasn't sure many people here would care for them if they can't understand the lyrics. ( Plus, I don't listen to many German speaking bands. )

Here's one I've been listening to a lot the last few months:

I've known and liked that song and its video clip since its release all those years ago, and have listened to it every now and then, yet I never bought that album. I think I ought to change that.

Uih, that brings back memories. Had a Kettcar when I was a little boy!! Man, those memories. Damn, something flew in my eye!!
