What time of year were you here? It only gets bad in late autumn and through the winter. The air isn't exactly crystal clear the rest of the year, but it's probably normal for a city this size. In the bad weather of the autumn/winter period cars are used more, and many houses that still use antiquated heatng systems (usually fueled by bad quality coal to make matters worse, because people gladly poison themselves and others if it means buying something cheaper) only add to the situation, and the result is this clusterfuck.

and the ozon layer was messedup pretty bad in Australia, unless it magically restored this year, i saw some programs on television years ago where they predicted that people be walking outside with special suits to protect themslves from the danegrous radiation, so i guess human mankind will obliterate themselves.

The melting of substantial amounts of ice is seen as a 'benfit' by some mad rich people who talk about how much faster they can move the ships if they can sail straight ahead instead of making lots of detours, all that counts is money, they do forget that money is not funny anymore if they will be the last 100 people with all that cash.

personally i blame it on:

not enough good personel (they keep on firing staff instead of hiring)
they dont take things serious
everything has to go faster and faster, this way they loose some extra control because all things have to be done i a hurry.
all things must be done as fast and as cheap as possible.
So basically the big reason of all problems is the human factor, humans make mistakes, lots of mistakes, computers dont make mistakes, if they do its bcause we made them so in the end its all our own doing.
Well thats sums it all up: the greatest danger to mother earth are the people living on it.

Update: My life has become a Fallout game.

After last month's Beijing Airpocalypse (Part II) which hit record levels of pollution that would make Chairman Mao proud, I barely made it alive with 27 hp left until the rejuvenating wind of salvation came and blew it all away to a nearby unsuspecting country.

Today, Beijing issues the first ever pollution red alert, so I decided to build up my defense stats and crafted a ghetto-ass makeshift air purifier out of a regular fan, a HEPA filter and a rope. I also just finished sealing every window and door with duct tape and stockpiled 35 pollution masks. BRING IT ON! :D

I blame it all on Charlie Sheen.
