Shadowstalker16: Yeah that is the problem though. In the US and Europe it might be different or anywhere else but where I live it might be different but people are constantly saying I'm too old to play games. Many people still lack the knowledge that gaming is just as if not much more engaging and entertaining a medium as books or films. How people view playing games as juvenile while buying a new smartphone every 4 months is beyond me.
I'm supporting this.
Yep, that's the thing - it's based in ignorance and judgment. The mere concept of being "too old" for something whether it is games, sports, humour or anything else is at its core a form of judgment which is at a bare minimum dysfunctional if not outright harmful. It ultimately comes out of ignorance, and of judging other people and what they are and are not capable of doing or what they should or shouldn't do with their life. Only other people do not get to decide what is right or wrong for us, what we will or should enjoy. Age is absolutely nothing more than the procession of time. It is visibly noticeable with our outward appearance of our skin, body, hair, etc. as our bodies change and deteriorate due to disease, malnutrition, illness, injury, exposure to harmful chemicals or other substances, radiation and so on and so on. Some people have more exposure to these things than others and thus naturally some people live longer than others. People who take better care of themselves may live longer with a much more youthful look, this making it more difficult to even discern age by look. Others of course use makeup, surgery and other means to disguise their age to varying degrees of success. The bottom line is that you can't judge a person accurately or who they are as a person solely by their physical appearance alone, including their age, and there is no genetic predisposition nor rule or law that states that people of a certain age must think or behave a certain way, or like or dislike certain things.
It's really no different than someone criticizing someone for playing video games as being a waste of time or similar who then goes and spends just as much time watching sports, sitcoms, reality TV on television for a similar amount of time. Every one of us consciously decides to spend our time how we want to spend it at that moment of time, and we reap the pros and/or cons of those decisions. It's not for others to judge what is right or wrong.
