I came to read a shitshow about some kind of bias and found a better one.
Lone_Scout: The point of RPGs is playing a character. This character does not need to have the same personallity, behaviour or thoughts as the player. You can play an a***ole and enjoy the experience. Being a different person is fun.
So, no wrong in that point unless the whole game itself has a clear message supporting such ideas.
dtgreene: From what I can tell, it's not just the character you play as; other characters are transphobic, to the point of deadnaming the character in question.
Also, even if the game doesn't support such ideas, they still should at least provide a trigger warning, so that the possible players can decide if they are prepared to handle such issues mentally. Even a game like Secret Little Haven (which is about a trans woman and was written by a trans woman) has, right on the game's itch.io page, "[CONTENT WARNINGS: Parental conflict, gaslighting, flashing visuals]". (Note that the game I am referencing here is not an RPG.)
Edit: Why the low rating? Could you please explain what was inappropriate about what I said?
You seem to not understand something fairly obvious. We live in a society, that, right now, seems to be largely off put by the elite who have N agendas that they're lauding over our heads at all times, just to show their moral superiority, especially in regards to morals that not all of society agrees with.
One of these very prominent issues right now being "transgender rights" (often shortened to "trans rights" to intentionally conflate with "transsexual rights"), where one of the things being used to push the overton window is "you're not a real lesbian if you won't sleep with a woman who has a dick." I keep hearing that "no trans person is like that," but i keep reading it everywhere. The thing is, i do believe that the grand majority actually arne't like that, but these fringe idiots are not making good impressions. I'm now constantly meeting LGBTQi+ people who are telling me they want nothing to do with the community, and even a few who want nothing to do with the LGB Alliance 'cause they feel it's mysandrist. Basically, the internal struggle of the community (Bi's being hated 'cause they "won't pick a side" or 'cause it implies there are only two genders, gay men being hated for being men, lesbians being belived to be "only political lesbians", and the list goes on) has come to the surface and everyone is seeing the toxic mess that was festering all this time and never got addressed. You got people now saying "look, i'm gay, but i'm not like them, i swear, don't be afraid of me" and stuff like that. Millenial and Gen-Z have been reporting to be less accepting of the LGBTQi+ community than they ever were before, and it seems it's still falling.
Frankly, in it's own way, anything that opposes the moral peacocking of major corporations (who all are starting to peacock that they hate corporations [example: i was trying out Just Cause 4, having never played any of the games before, and after about an hour of broken AI an mind-numbing cognitive dissonance, I crashed a helicoptor into the side of the mountain intentionally and quit the game]), no matter how hateful, is more or less "wholesome" at this point. I could go on about all the absolute BS going on right now, but, frankly, the average person just wants to hear someone on the other side for once, no matter how hateful or disgusting. The constant same-ness we see with everything, and you come in and invoke the Streisand Effect, and wonder what went wrong. Common, man, do you honestly not understand what's going on here? Are you really that disconnected with people outside of your own little social circle? Do you not talk to strangers?
