Not in but thought I'd recommend Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller and Hector A Badge of Carnage (just after the telltale expired I'm afraid) as 2 of my favourite adventure games. The first is a supernatural drama with twists on the genre. The second is vulgar detective hilarity.
thread bumped in public interest
I'm in for Ultima 7 as I never got the chance to play what it's considered to be the best game of the Ultima series. Not in for Underworld though, I still love the isometric perspective but I don't think I could go back to get lost in Ravenloft-like worlds.

About the best RPG debate, bufff that's both a tough and an interesting one. I agree on Fallout and Arcanum of course, but seeing this is basically about Lord British I'm gonna go with Ultima Online, mostly because even though the story was sort of missing, the opportunities for role playing were incredible. I remember discovering the world with some friends atop of horses, sitting down for fishing near the sea and running away from everything as everything was way more powerful than the player who wasn't interested in macros and grinding. Good old times running away from the threats of virtual cemeteries.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I think I know what you meant, but I can't shake the mental image of a cemetery suddenly hovering slightly off the ground and chasing after you as you frantically attempt to evade it on your horse.

"AHHH! That is a FLYING CEMETERY and it is CHASING ME!!!"

haha my bad for expressing myself with such ambiguity, your interpretation is much better from what I originally intended as a message though. I hope an indie developer reads your idea and turns it into a game, some random characters riding horses and running away from flying (that addition is great) cemeteries would give way to a few great insights about life, or maybe not, but it seems fun lol.

Great idea! :-D

I'll close the GA tomorrow, so that the winners can play during the weekend. So last chance to enter!
not in, but a +1 bump
Alright. I close the GA (at least for the games that had takers)

Deponia goes to Caesar
Little Big Adventure 2 goes to DrLeatherface
Fantasy General goes to Bookwyrm

The Ultimas code goes to josh72718 first and if he isn't interested in Ultima 7, it would be nice if he passed that on to the second placed TheNerdyPlane

Mount&Blade and Eador remain untaken. For these the GA remains open and the codes will go to the first eligible person to ask for them.

Fonzer: Hm i never played any ultima games as it seems and you said ultima 7 is the best crpg, wishlited it by now and wonder are ultima games in anyway connected between them storywise or somehow?
Yes. All Ultima games tell a continous story (apart from Ultima 9, which in large parts ignores the previous games). But the important parts of the story are told ingame too, so you don't need to know any previous Ultimas to enjoy Ultima 7. I started with Ultima 7 too, back when it was released, and only played the previous Ultimas afterwards.

Yes. It would have been a too tough assignment for random.org to pick a winner out of such a long list. I'm sure that would have led to stack overflow. So I just made the random decision on my own! ;-) Luckily, being a roleplayer, I own plenty of dice. :-D
Congratulations, you lucky winners!! :)
Praise be to Lifthrasil for conducting the GA.
Thank you once again! :)
