Yes, this fucking sucks! Love his songs like Different Corner, Cowboys and Angels, White Light, Older, Spinning the Wheel, and Jesus to a Child. The world really lost one of its greats.
Sheesh! It looks even more when you see it like this...
Never a huge fan, but I liked some of his stuff. I've had "Kissing A Fool" stuck in my head since yesterday.

Heart failure =/= heart stopping. That's cardiac arrest. Heart failure can be non-fatal too.
Why is Lemmy Kilmister in that pic? He died in 2015... If someone is going through that trouble they need to at least be accurate.

I guess ol' George didn't have Faith... >.> I think this is a Freddy Murcury thing, where he had HIV but refused to treat it.

He was the warning shot at the end of last year.
Now we just have to wait & see who is the end of this years warning shot ;)

But heart failure is a symptom, not a cause.

This article actually addresses this a bit...

Rest In Peace George.

I'll forever admire you for being such a troubled person but still managing to deliver so much joy, hope and sweet saxophone tunes to others.

Kleetus: Holy shit, what a crappy year.

Magnitus: Prince, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen and now George Michael... not a great year for music I'd say especially that given the entire bunch, only Leonard Cohen was over the male lifespan average.

A lot of musical genius passed away this year, that's for sure. Their incredible talent will be missed.
Isn't that pretty much every year though? Granted, the 20th century and the rise of mass media made it possible for huge numbers of people to be familiar with a particular artist, but since that point, pretty much every year has a long list of celebrities that have a huge enough following to be missed.

Last year was worse.

One year ago today, Lemmy died.

Here's a fraction of the 2015 list:
Leonard Nimoy
Terry Pratchett
B.B. King
Christopher Lee
James Horner
Omar Sharif
Satoru Iwata
Tom Moore
Wes Craven
Helmut Schmidt
Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister
Ian Murdock
etc...

Justin Bieber.

Well okay he didn't die this year but wouldn't it be great of he did? :D
My mom was very upset about his death and all I hear now is his music when she calls me in the background. all I know is a lot of people are going to cash in on his death and over charge for his stuff on sites.

Yeah, for sure, you pick all your favorite musicians that are at least 15 years older than you and short of a fluke, they'll byte the dust before you.

And of course, you'll have a lineup of artists that pass on each year (and people will give you a long list of examples).

For me, Bowie, George Michael, Leonard Cohen and Prince were huge. George Michael was definitely in my top 10 for favorite artists and the other 3 were somewhere in my top 25 (it's not nothing, I have over 500 different artists in my music collection, I love listening to music while I work).

And except for Leonard Cohen, they died before their time (and Cohen while very old was still musically active too). Again, it is such a personal thing, but because of those 4, it was a shitty year for me for music.

I don't know enough about their lives to mourn them personally, but losing that much talent (especially when you listen to their music at least on a weekly basis) is always painful on some level.

Not for me, but that's life.

Anyways, I've written enough about it. Life is for the living after all.

In a way, those artists were fortunate. Their music will live on and make a ripple in the lives of people for a long long time.
