He can turn them into gems, create booster packs and sell those. So not all is lost I suppose.

What other people do with their money I could care less. We all have our things that bring us joy, things that others probably think are idiotic or stupid. Gotta say though, I wish I had 13,000 to just burn. Some of those CSGO items in his inventory are worth like 5-10k. Dayum.

Higher levels unlock more showcases you can use to customize your profle

Higher levels raise the max limit on your friends list

Every 10 levels raises your chances of getting a booster pack by 20%
(Booster packs are packs of 3 free cards that turn up in your inventory every now and again)

Publicly visible account profile, or it didn't happen. :) Seriously though, if it is true (which I completely doubt), that is some pretty funny shit right there. The fact someone would waste such a tremendous amount of money on completely useless crap can only be classified sadly as a mental illness.

If the story is true, hopefully Valve will help this person out one way or another, either by fixing their software - or even better, by helping the person seek aide from the appropriate medical profession.

[Update: Oh man, how could I have possibly missed the URL there when I also quoted it. LOL I'm shit for brains today for sure. LOL]

So the only thing of value is more friends. Do you happen to know if there was a friend limit prior to this level nonsense?

Well, its not the first time when Valve wasnt ready for a high number.

Example : Valve dont have an icon for profile level 1000 + and Palm Desert ( http://steamcommunity.com/id/palmdesert ) is already at 1111.

Anyway by checking St4ck inventory - he had money to spare so there we go.

Does this mean that with his level of 30K he can actually MAKE MORE then the 13K$ he lost just from selling free booster packs?
How free are they? Do they just Show Up from time to time, or do they only appear from crafting?
