So I uninstalled my older GOG version of Eador, downloaded the new installer and installed it, then installed the new DLC, but whenever I try to launch the game it says the game is out of date and needs to update, it downloads 1.4.3 patch, but when it's done and I click "Launch" it just says it's outdated version AGAIN and downloads the same 1.4.3 patch again. Meaning it's impossible for me to update the game.

This is why autopatchers are so damn evil.
I am having the same issue. I tried setting things to run as admin, still no joy.

That just plain sucks. It would be really nice if GOG made their current installer the most up-to-date version Snowbird has available, but it's still the 1.1.3 version (which btw, I have been playing for the most part, trouble free, because it's pretty damn stable overall). As my gaming computer has no internet connection, I would be unable to use this DLC even if I wanted to, until GOG doers makes a current installer available. But TBH, after following the Snowbird forums over the previous weeks, and all the folks still complaining about bugs and problems, I'll be sticking with 1.1.3 for a while yet regardless. Hopefully, at some point, Snowbird and GOG can get together, and put out a "Stable* updated game installer, and then I'll happily purchase the DLC. I love this game, but won't be screwing with my older version till I *know* they finally have things all worked out....
Same here. Updater just dribbles in then aborts. I will buy the DLC once GOG/Snowbird releases a proper patch that I can download and install manually.
Same problem here. I hate to do this but I may just have to buy this AGAIN but on Steam. Come on GOG, please fix this?
Same here... please update the installer!!
Same problem here , please update the installer

Are you really sure this is only a problem with GOG and not the game itself? What good would buying it on Steam then do you?

I will say I am disapointed with GoG for releasing games/patches that they have not tested themselves and just trusting the devolopers to have fixed things. But I know this problem is many times worse on Steam along with a bunch of other problems.
Please write to us (send in a Support ticket) whenever problems such as these arise with our version of the game so that we can take a better look at it. Thanks :)

I would strongly advise not to use 1.4.2 but to stick to the old version because 1.4.2 has serious troubles with loading saved games.

See and [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/eador_series/save_will_not_load_nor_will_continue_work]here.

I have also seen threads on the Snowbirdgames forum about this so this problem seems to be quite widespread. I have also contacted support because of that just now.

If you have not updated the game yet don't do it! If you have please check if you have the same trouble with saved games. If you do please write to support about it. The more people write to support the better because then they will know this is a serious problem that must be fixed quickly. I have already suggested to revert to the last version until this is fixed.

P.S.: Updating the game to 1.4.3 does not help the saved game issue.

What he is probably hoping gog does is to revert THEIR installer back to the last stable version.

That way you can uninstall the new one and redownload the installer to get older version.

Thanks for the reply! It's been my experience that Steam update patches have been reliable. I think that I have only run into one problem with a Steam autopatch in eight years (close to 600 games on Steam) and I cannot say the same of GoG. Don't get me wrong as I truly love GoG and combined with Steam the two offer mindboggling choices.

I see that someone has submitted a support ticket and I'll do the same as it seems that many of us are experiencing problems with the update.

I know that Eador has some issues but I really like the game and I think with a few more fixes this could be an excellent title. Fantasy TBS games are making a great comeback with Warlock2, AoW3, Endless Legend, and the forthcoming Worlds of Magic. Snowbird would do well to get Eador on a level playing field with these. [Endless Legend, while still in Early Access is already so very polished and I have yet to run into game breaking bugs. Tjat said, it lacks the tactical combat that I love in Eador].

Exactly. Because of the inability to load saved games the current version is unplayable. And I have already deleted the old installer. :-(

This may seem obvious advice but sometimes people forget. If you deleted the old installer is it maybe still in your Trash/Recycle bin? These usually don't empty by themselves unless you set it up that way so you may still be able to restore it from the trash.
