Stuff: I believe you are explaining how to make Divine Divinity 2 run in windowed mode. The original Divine Divinity sold by GOG, according to one of the Larian Studios Devs, will not run in windowed mode on it's own. He indicated it might with 3rd party software but . . . so far . . . no body has been able to make it run in windowed mode with or without other programs. If you have a way to get DD to run in windowed mode please share that as well . . . =)
I managed to get the original DD (bought here on GOG) to run in windowed mode!
For this, I used D3D Windower that I found on this site:

There is a link to the english version of the tool. The UI is a bit confusing but this is how it works -- click on the '+' button on the toolbar and select the main game exe ("div.exe") in the the game folder; then click on the 'settings' button and specify the resolution (width, height); finally click the 'run program' button. You don't need to tinker with the first two buttons on the toolbar -- activate emulation/deactivate emulation (which is what threw me off initially).
I got a slight performance lag when running at 1024X768 and so switched to 800X600 and had no problems thereafter.
What is super is that using the SplashTop-HD app on the Ipad I can now play DD on it (streaming it from my windows m/c to the Ipad). Even at 800X600 it looks and plays far better than other Ipad game I own. The SplashTop app only streams games properly if the game is running in windowed mode, which is why i went looking for a solution to this problem.
Bottom line: GOG+D3DWindower+SplashTop-HD == Classic Games on the Ipad without jailbreaking....i.e Gaming bliss :)
