DF1871: Well..after i invited Ulysses and his friends i have some kind of mood drain.
Every 3 days Ulysses and his 3 +Max and Sara Seza drop 1 mood Stage, Jodie dropped back to okay from happy too but that might be related to the car(all upgrades finished and he can't work at the car anymore..poor guy :)
I had some special Items at stock so it wasn't a problem at first...but...i am running out of Stuff slowly
Is there any way aside from special Items and Events to raise the mood?
Firstly:
- Max tends to have lower mood anyway. Have you managed to get him to "change"? By which I mean, gotten to the point where he's come up to you and actually talked to you? I think that's the only way to (kind of) cheer him up (somewhat).
- One of the Sezas seems cheerier if given lab work, while the other one is just a whinger.
- Jodie will do that - maybe keep him busy with something else that's mechanical in nature? Not sure if that will work though (currently re-playing this with new hard mode, so not as far as you this game).
AFAIK the only other ways to raise individual mood are:
- if they come to you to talk to you, what you say can affect their mood. Sometimes you can't avoid a mood loss, but often you can gain a mood boost by saying the right thing. You may also get different options unlocked depending on your skills (leadership and negotiation generally, but other skills occasionally).
- As above, but sometimes they request you do something for them. This can be just going to a certain place, building a certain upgrade, etc, or finding something specific for them - a semi-unique item (different to the Unique luxury goods). If you complete these "quests" they should get a bit of a boost. Sometimes you can get a shelter-wide boost.
- Building the upgrade they favour - but you have all of those already.
- Resolving crisis events favourably - but you probably already know that. Also you have to wait for them to happen.
Apart from that, individual mood is (somewhat) affected by overall shelter morale. If your shelter morale is high then you should be fine.
BTW are you playing on hard? The above is my memory from before the patch. I'm playing on hard now and have to admit it's a lot different now. I have 20 people at my shelter, but don't have the car or horses yet. So far we're not starving (though we only have food for about 3 days at the moment). I managed to get shelter morale above 0 for a day or two, and now it's -50 or so and slowly dropping every day, since there seem to be less luxury items around in the areas I can reach on foot (so far). Hopefully Davis doesn't shoot me...
