loppantorkel: I'm still on win 7 because so far I've had no reason to move on. I guess this is about to change... Not that I like the thought of getting win 10, but as long as you isolate it to being a pure 'gaming console', how much harm can be done?
There is no such a thing as " a pure gaming console" nowadays.
And it's your choice , of course, but I shall not move to Win 10. If I ever will be forced to move, it will be Linux.

Yunipuma: Every, good sir. Especially after this: "That's not any reason for new AAA products to support it when it is not supported itself".
avatar
Hickory: And it's not. So what's your point?
THAT is my point. Because, to be honest, AAA products can very easily support Win7 - it's only a matter to include DX11 support.
Right now there is almost no visbile improvement in switching to DX12 visiuals, unless you are, forgive the sentence, "graphics whore".

That was just a cheap shot. Not forgiven. For your information, I am far from it.

The reality remains: new AAA products will NOT support Win 7. Fact.

If I only game on it, in what way would it interfer or spy on me?

My English is far from good, so I'll not go in long discussion - do not want you to laugh at my poorly chosen words.
So:
A very least there will be your credit card info in your system (for buying games here on GOG, for example). Yes, it will be not the kind information which can be used to transfer actual money from your account, but using that info Micro$oft can determine your country & your age, so it use that info in their analysis of your favorites goods. The standard "market evaluation" procedure. It's not even illegal anywhere in the world - bit it is done without your consent.
Then there will be data of your contacts in media nets - Facebook & etc which will be used to advertise some products to you - like "recomended videos" on Youtube. The problem with it again - your consent is not even asked.

You assume a lot. What I stated was fact, not that I supported it.

*moded, please be polite to the others when posting.

Intertesting. So I make some statement based on your words - and I only "asume". You make a statement based on my words - and it's already a "fact". Nice one, good sir.
Not to mention the fact that I did not offend you.
You act like a true English gentleman should. Perhaps you are a graduate of a private school? Maybe even Oxford? Or it's Hogwarts? :)

Nah. I use IOS for stuff I care about. I'm not buying stuff on my gaming PC. Not a full proof system, but I'd say it's decent enough.

It's a matter of principle. No matter how much I might want to play CP2077, I will not infect any of my devices with Win10. If that means I'll never play it, then so be it.

Pretty similar to my views on Steam - when they introduced it as a hard dependency of Half-Life 2, Valve made the whole "single player game must phone home in order to function" thing part of the general view. I will never forgive that. I've never once touched Steam, I never will. Doesn't matter what games come out on it.

It all depends on what you consider important. I rank my principles as higher than a videogame. Does this mean that I'll one day never be able to get any new games? Possibly. I was prepared for that in 2008 when Steam was taking over. I'm still prepared to accept that now.

Call it whatever you want - you have the right to make your mind. As I have the right to make my mind.
However, I'm politically incorrect person & proud of it, so I say my words bluntly: anyone who defends a corporation that takes away customer's rights is a corporate slave.

Hickory: Now you're babbling like an idiot.
Of course, my lordship, for I'm not a corporate slave. And everyone who's not willing to give up his freedoms and rights for sake of convenance (as established by popular mass-media) is idiot nowadays.
