There is not a single company in the world who would like to go through the same shit, much less repeatedly.

As it is, Cyberpunk 2077 already provides far more mature content than most commercial AAA games do, so I really don't see what you guys are all whining about. All I see is people being unreasonable. If The Witcher 3 had sex scenes with underage children, which then had to be removed, would you still be complaining about Cyberpunk 2077 never including those in the first place? Of course not, as that would be unreasonable. Instead of complaining to a game developer for adhering to established rules, you should be complaining to society about their warped moral perception (such as accepting extreme violence over simple acts of love or nudity).

Yes, there are plenty of things to complain about in this game that are far more important than "censorship", but that's not what we're arguing about here.

I find it particularity funny that:
- there are just 2 post directly related to the OP question.
- there is 30 post of "opinion snow ball fight" about straw man argument of censorship
- of those 2 on-topic post, only 1 is actually answering and other is just building another straw man of poor texture quality


Yet reality is that:
- quality of textures is ok, it just depends on what you run the game on
- only difference is text, but they are used in the same context so that is hardly a censorship

If that's censorship, then it's really half-assed considering you can carry around a naked dead chick if you really want to.

I would have thought that if anything were "censorship", then that would be the fact that there is a distinct lack of naked strippers - whether in clubs or windows, they're almost always (or always?) fully clothed.

However, judging by the state of this game on release, it's probably more the case that they had to prioritize things for release, and I guess whoever was supposed to be working on titties and other naked bits was probably reallocated to stopping dead bodies from embedding themselves in the pavement or something.

Also those sex scenes - not sure we'd gain much by them being more explicit, apart from increasing the comedy factor. At least they're not lovey-dovey cringe material like most media, so there's that at least. IMO the way to "improve" these is to head in the direction of similar scenes in Team America... ;)

Because Witcher those cutscenes are done 10 times better than in this game. They are done like you would expect in a soft erotica under 17 movie - things showing but not too much, people acting natural etc. Here they are ridiculous vs that - participants are often dressed (no time to undress?) or the whole thing is covered in ugly green tint (hello Panam, my sole straight male companion). One scene - ONE - in the whole game is done like I would expect them all to be done - and that's Alt Cunningham and Johnny. Nothing to do with your protagonist or what he can achieve in the game.

I don't understand why people keep on bringing "penetration" and "porn" into these discussions. Nobody is expecting porn or penetration. No, we don't want Hentai games or hardcore porn in Cyberpunk. Just tasteful depiction of intimacy - or just bloody take it out altogether, replace it with Witcher 1 style cards or nothing at all.

Notice how the very same screenshot they uploaded also contained the word "MEALS", yet nobody seems to care about that particular word. This is an obvious complaint about censorship of sexual content, which, by definition is pornographic: You claim to be from the United States, surely I don't need to teach you your own native language, do I?

It was also a very poor attempt at finding "censorship" where there is none. The game has plenty of NPCs clearly labelled with "JOYBOY" or "JOYGIRL".

Surely removing the "genitals" option would be a really easy fix, especially since it doesn't exactly add anything to the game, unless you're planning to run around naked turkey-slapping people. So the fact that naked schlongs exist in character creation makes me doubt that censorship was the reason the strippers are clothed - I'm still betting on it being they ran out of time to sort them out properly.

Also, I'm pretty sure she's not the only one - though you probably can't carry the others around (I haven't tried), there are other places where one sees naked dead chicks (technically the first one isn't dead).
