Been loving the game so far, but had a couple of days where I was getting frequent crashes to desktop.
It turns out, the game really does not like you mixing control methods.

To explain:

I use a Wooting Two keyboard on my PC. This keyboard's big feature is that it can work in a mode where keys become pressure sensitive. I use this feature to get analogue-stick level of control on the WASD keys.

The keyboard does not require any special drivers to be able to do this; when keys are mapped as being joystick directions, they use XInput to report to the operating system.

It turns out, playing this way causes the game to crash-to-desktop; I confirmed this by playing all yesterday without using the feature, rather playing with the keyboard in "Digital" mode, and I didn't have a single crash-to-desktop.

I shall do some further testing today, as the keyboard also allows key-presses to be reported to the operating system using DirectInput instead of XInput.

Some might say that as this is such an edge-case scenario, it shouldn't be fixed. However, I would like to point out that this is likely to affect users who are using accessibility options when playing the game (in layman's terms: physically disabled gamers).

If CDPR do get around to fixing this, I would also ask that they add a way to lock which on-screen control prompts are displayed on screen. One of the problems faced when playing with the Wooting Two in analogue mode is that these prompts are constantly flicking between controller buttons and key-presses. Indeed, maybe this is the cause of the CTD?

Edit: Turns out, the game doesn't appear to support DirectInput at all, so that's not a solution.

Interesting, I've been getting constant CTD's using the M+K with the controller plugged in (for driving), I'll try unplugging it and report back if it makes a difference.
(I'm not optimistic in my case as it seems to be a graphics card / driver issue but all suggestions for increased stability are welcome)

I have seen some mentions of CTD´s for people that have changed keyboard mappings, personally I have not had any CTD, I have only changed some graphics settings but everything else is on default, I am over 40 hours in.
It seems that I may have found a way to stop the game from crashing on my PC.

I simply allowed Nvidia GeForce Experience to optimise my graphics settings and the game hasn't crashed since, it's been almost a day now with no crashes. Only time will tell if this has completely eliminated the CTD's for me but it certainly seems as though the game is far more stable now at least.

Definately worth a shot for those of you with Nvidia GPU's who are experiencing crashes.

My system specs are :

Operating system - Win 7 x64 home premium
CPU - Ryzen 5 2600
Ram - 16GB Corsair vengeangce 2666 MHz
Motherboard - Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE
GPU - Asus Tuf GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

I've attached an image showing my current settings just in case this can help anyone.

Thanks, I'll definitely try that.
Actually never mind, seems I jumped the gun a bit there, the game has started crashing again.... dammit.

Sorry to hear that, I just noticed you have the same GPU as me, maybe there an issue with that GPU and this game?
A new driver came out today, I updated and gave the game a quick spin, it didn't crash BUT it was a very short test (about 40 minutes) so I won't say it's fixed but it might be worth a try.
I just finished downloading the latest driver - 460.89, I'll post here if it helps at all.
Just to reinforce this, I've now been playing the game for three days without using the analogue functionality of my keyboard, and haven't had a single CTD.

The image is taken from GeForce Experience, I used photoshop to crop it so that it only shows relevant information.

Also since updating to the latest drivers I've only had one crash and it wasn't the graphics driver failure that I was experiencing before, so it's probably a completely unrelated CTD, the audio was glitching just before it happened so maybe it's something related to that.

I'm also still using GeForce Experience to optimise my graphics settings, which seems to be helping.
