so i think, objectively, cyberpunk isnt that great gameplaywise. im not talking about the story or atmosphere or anything (that is really good) but it has absolutely no innovation in regards to game mechanics

im not a hater, i think cyberpunk receives a lot of "hyped up hate" cause its cool right now to hate on cyberpunk
but there are many many good reasons to write it off as a.. (lets not look at bugs and performance 1 minute) well produced generic game
this alone would not be bad, i guess it would still be praised
like that trash game cod, which many, rightfully enjoy even so it is objectively shit (from a gamer perspective)
but the problem is the announcement that they made, giving each street a name even if its not mentioned in game, groundbreaking, never seen before immersion but then you end up with the same shit like any other game in the past years. minimap that holds your hand, floating questmarker in your fov, because in the end it is not that immersive or new or unique, its just the usual trash as always, make a map, put some quests and... making the dialogues and places recognizable? having npcs actually tell you waht to do and where? too much effort, just put a questmarker everywhere so they dont get lost

then they said.. choices matter, you could exchange with your friend how your story went because it will BE SOOOO DIFFERENT.. i guess you see where i am going

For the comments about nudity, I play a lot of h-games and it seems like what you're looking for is straight porn. H-games have come a long way, I recommend something like Honey Select 2 if you're just looking to watch sex scenes. You can design your characters on a level that is further than any I've seen in a game. So just make the characters you wanted to see have sex and then watch them go at it with relatively high graphics capabilities. AI Shoujo is good for sex scenes with a basic story plot.

However, I was actually looking forward to Cyberpunk as something different. Sure, it has lewd content, but I frankly have enough of that as it is. I just wanted Cyberpunk and being that guy who listens to synthwave on the daily and loves the whole Cyberpunk genre (not just the game) I am pretty happy with what I got here. I have said this a million times, this isn't just a game for me, it's an experience. Heck, I love the fact that I can literally walk around in a world that looks like synthwave album covers ore reminds me of Hardware, Johnny Mnemonic, Blade Runner and other great films. It even has dancing hologram girls, like Joi.

Sure, there are things I don't like, such as the lack of interaction from crowds and the fact that headshots are not one hit kills for some reason (I'd love for someone to mod that in) because I find the AI very, very difficult. I end up using my fists more than anything. But to be honest, just walking around and enjoyinh the city is enough for me.

I was never a GTA guy. So I don't get into those kind of games and I never play anything online. This is pretty much the first game I've played like this, and being that I love the Cyberpunk genre to death, it's what I wanted.

It seems to me that some people just don't know what Cyberpunk actually is. I've even argued this with people in my own community of Cyberpunk fans. Which a lot of them by the way, do like the game. Maybe this is biased as hell, but I never played The Witcher games much either. Maybe the first one for an hour. I'm just not into medieval and fantasy stuff, I'm into robotics, futurism, transhumanism, digisexuality and I take it all very seriously.

But at the same time I didn't want to spoil myself. I never listened to the Night City Wire. I wanted to keep it all a surprise. And it was. I honestly don't care what got cut, but if things get re-added, then so be it. I'm happy with the final product being literally that guy who looked forward to this game more than you could know and I'm not disappointed. Maybe it's a lie for people who don't know what Cyberpunk is, but I'm happy with it.

The Gibson stories are all over this, Keanu has to be a fan of Gibson, Headshots ohh you wait the Grad Rifle not even stopped by walls heads explode.

Yeah, maybe a refund could partly fix that but developing self criteria can definitely help next time.
Its easy, just learn from the past like that game that promised to be revolutionary and ended up being a flat delivery simulator with famous faces... if people learned from that they would create REASONABLE expectations on any trailer they watch, that is what i did and im having the time of my life with this game that runs flawlessly on my LAPTOP (msi gs65) at 1080P.

68 hours in and just a few minor visual glitches. So far im getting exactly the same amazing RPG I expected.
I dont know, maybe you never played an rpg or whatever but so far all my character’s behaviour, choices and dialogues fit the background I choose and plenty of quest conversations have opened for me just because im a nomad so, yeah..
there is NOTHING empty about Night city and the countless side missions I randomly found that turned out to be hella interesting.
how can you dare mentioning NO MAN’S SKY? if you learned ANYTHING from Hello games and what no man sky has become you wouldn’t be jeopardizing an exciting project cause its launch was troublesome.
About customisation the only complaint i have is that you cant make a fat V....... so, yeah, the only real troublesome issue is that they wanted to bring the game to most people by supporting last gen and it went wrong (and for me that’s fixable, as i said i play on a laptop)

I'm not quite sure where you are coming from, but majority of the players I have seen commenting, myself included, never mentioned asking for porn or wanting porn. There is more than enough porn out there on the internet. What we are complaining about is the cognitive dissonance between the setting (strip bar, prostitute, romance scene, naked character in the inventory menu including detailed genitals) and the visuals of heavily censored / clothed actors IN THOSE SETTINGS. This game aims to simulate a mature dystopian setting, where anything goes really. Yet the "adult" themes in this setting are so far removed from a typical adult scene you would see in a strip bar or red light district in real life today that it becomes a joke. This is what the complaint is about - if you are bringing those themes into your proclaimed adult game, then bring them in properly (and as advertised by CDPR).

Nobody forced CDPR to boast their genital choice diversity or to include the strip bars / prostitutes into their game. They could have avoided both by simply not having it in game - and then there would be no need to have nudity at all. Either do something properly or don't do it - that's the heart of the matter.

As for the game being for Casuals sure as for following ll games follow those trends, way back where everyone copied and used doom as their inspiration, Fashion trends Decorating and Painting it's not limited and everyone copies some aspect they like, and it's either lack of creativity or admiration for that specific element but it always changes evolves.

As the trailers show Cinematic sequences that may appear like gameplay and those who complain want to use this as their reason for hate not even a reason ,literally every damn game trailer has had exaggerated Cutscene rubbish but at least CDPR used content that is in the game even if it's cutscene cinematic and not some made up crap that never happens.

When you buy a Ferrari you get options and if you don't like the colour you get it sprayed another, When mods appear for game you do the same or you make a mod your self.

Other publishers are pushing trash and really lying to users, and on those game forums and such you can't even have a thread like this without being banned, just try it on Ubisoft or EA or Activision or Valve they lose their minds and threaten to take your entire collection etc, I know this they're all very petty they all release buggy games they all then have DLC which takes precedence over release day bugs.

The COP Ai is the worst it's literally trash, The Trailer says "This is not Final we want to give you a Glimpse of what's possible in the released game" not a definite.

they did not use content that is in the game, thats the whole point. the "This is not Final we want to give you a Glimpse of what's possible in the released game" is not a glimpse it is showing a whole different direction
they do show GAMEPLAY and not ingame cutscenes which do not even exist at cutscenes anymore
and im not talking about "hey i saw that in the video and now i dont find it" they talked about mechanics, how they work. the whole mechanics are not there (choices matter, wall running, etc)

To get this out of the way first: I've played 122h by now, and I'm really enjoying what's there.

But all the same, I am incredibly disappointed with features just straight up missing or seeming to be "placeholders", at most. The wanted system, traffic on rails, NPCs being... well, nothing like what they promised they would be.

Now, given the fact that law firms and lawyers are already, publically stating how they're looking into and building up a case to sue CDPR over deception and false advertisement, that alone... plus the massive stock value crash of CDPR and both their investors and own employees lashing out at CDPR's management suits, don't you think you should take a step back, and think about how maybe, there's some truth to the complaints of fans who've been waiting for CP2077 ever since the first announcement and all the promises they made since?


And, as for that stupid, stupid argument about "last gen consoles get last gen performance".
The game has originally been intended to release for these, then, "current-gen" consoles. Our current, new consoles weren't even a thing back then. And yes, if you pay 60 bucks for a game that's been developed for, and advertised to run "surprisingly well" on your hardware, you are damn right to expect it to actually do so. Because the issue is, they didn't get "last gen" performance. They got PS1 or N64 performance on their PS3. These versions of the game should NEVER have seen the light of day in this state. Period.


Point is, CP2077 should have been delayed to 2021. The game seems to be unfinished even in its best state, NPCs can't even drive yet (compare to GTA5 traffic from 2013, hell compare to GTA3 traffic from 2001) and you'd think that'd be one rather crucial element to have in a "living world". Corpo management ignored all the cries from developers and artists in their push to "make holiday sales", and hell even for that sorry excuse, they STILL should have delayed at least the last gen console versions to next year.


Let's be frank. CDPR fucked up here. BIG time. And they know they did, investors know they did, law firms know they did, hell their own devs are going "whelp, told you so" to their bosses. The game was released unfinished - "playable" on PC, yes, with many missing features, but that's all you can argue for. And again, yes I'm still having fun playing, but the disappointment still hits hard. This could've been such a masterpiece on launch, if it wasn't for the very clear case of mismanagement.

I really don't want to know how horrible the devs and artists who poured their everything into this game (and it shows! Shout out to our good chooms over at CDPR) must feel, seeing it pushed out in this sorry state because of greedy management decisions.



So, tl;dr:
The game is still unfinished, on any platform. On last gen consoles, it was straight up a scam to release. Features they promised for years, features games from 2001 had, are either missing or in a "placeholder" state even in the "most perfect" version of the game we got. Law firms are already filing to sue CDPR for deception and false advertisement, investors and even their own devs and artists are roasting management HARD for pushing it out the door unfinished, just to make holiday sales. And yes, despite all this - you can have fun spending 122h on playing the game, if you are able to. And still, you are allowed to criticize, and voice your disappointment.

Agreed. Just lol at fans blaming the "gamers" for expecting what was advertised. It's clearly CDPR's fault, they drove the marketing this way, they made the promises, and they released it knowing what it was like while deliberately going out of their way to hide it's actual state. It's an ok game that is broken is 1000 ways, unoptimised and lazy at best, and that's on a high spec PC. Console was an outright scam.
