I'm especially thinking about VetBob (that you can find here ).
Are there any issue installing/using it with the GOG's version ?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

There shouldn't be issues. You may need to download a plugin manager for the game though from the same site. I remember CC3 and CC4 had the mods packed in such a way that the program was needed. I'd imagine CC4 has them packed also.

This should help you run mods for CC4: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&op=getit&lid=220

First, thanks for your help :)

Well, I finally purchased CC 4 and tried to instal VetBob with CfgIV27 (CC4's mods manager), but in the VetBob mod, there is a file "CC4.exe" which replaces gog's CC4.exe, and the game asks for a cd with this new one. Can I delete it and use GOG's .exe ? Mod seems to work with GOG's .exe, but I'm simply wondering if the mod is impacted or not by this file ?

Same question for CC3 (I haven't had time to try to install a mod, but it's just to know for the moment I'll install some :))
I don't use many close combat mods, But I remember that the soldiers' uniform color is hardcoded in the executable, and therefor the mods often have a modded executable to change the uniform color.
So if you use the GoG executable, which is No-CD patched, you will get the original uniform colors, but it should be fine otherwise.

You should be ok. Otherwise you'd need either the disc or an iso to go with that modified executable. Try playing a little while using the mod and the gog executable, give the scenario builder a try to see if the different units display correctly and if they do, you're good to go.

The scenario editor is helpful for testing in general.
I tried to install VetBob using CfgIV27 but I'm getting this error.

If it's only colors, that's not a big deal :)
I tried to play two missions, and it seems to work for what I can see. I was afraid that there may be more important things than only soldiers colors into the .exe (like AI or things like that).

For the scenario editor... It doesn't seems to work ? When I click next, it asks me names for saving the file, it saves the file without issue... and directly go back to the main menu. Is this normal ? It's doing this with GOG's version (without mod) and with mod installed.

Again, thank you very much for helping !

Alansa: I tried to install VetBob using CfgIV27 but I'm getting this error.
I was having the same issue... Until I tried to do the contrary of what's said in the readme. It said
"I. Installation
If you are installing the CC4 Configuration Manager for the first time, simply unzip all the files into a dedicated folder outside CC4."
I finally tried to unzip directly all the files contained into CfgIV27.zip in the installation folder of the game ("C:\GOG Games\Close Combat 4" for me), and it worked without issue after that :) (only replaced .exe by GOG's one after installing VetBob, because VetBob installs one who asks for CD)
Hope this helps !

Which game are you trying to use the Scenario Editor for? CC3 or CC4? The editor for CC4 was a mess and a big step back compared to CC3.

CC4 :P It's maybe me who absolutely don't understand how it's supposed to work ^^"
I tried the scenario editor of CC3 and things seems mostly logical for the few things I tried.

With the CC4 editor I think you need to use the slider at the bottom to chose what day the battle is going to take place on [which affects force pools of units] then you need to choose the location and battlegroups that will fight. It's much more clumsy compared to CC3. CC4 is the game in the series that I've played the least though.

If it keeps on causing you problems, try the Close Combat forums and there'll be people that know it's scenario editor far better than I do.

Hope you are able to make the scenarios you would like. :) If you have CC5 however there are two good Ardennes mods which essentially port CC4 over to CC5.
