Whenever I set different resolution than the default one (320*200) the game crashes after a while (a few minutes or so).
Any clues?
(it has nothing to do with sound - I have already tried to disable it at all via setup and no luck)
This question / problem has been solved by Namurimage
If you're on Vista/Win7 run the game .exe as admin. If you're using the setup tool in the game's start menu folder to change the resolution, run that as admin too. Also, with the same tool try a different graphic mode, like Overlay maybe.

Well, setting overlay did not help.
However, you were right. After trying OpenGL with no luck either, finally Direct3D saved my day.
Thanks

You're welcome. Good to know you got it working ;)
I unchecked every Enabeled features under Enable list in the Advanced Options from the Blood 2 launcher and the game is more stable now! I run on Windows 7 64 Bit!!! I hope that can help someone!

but then it starts to look horrible and still crash.
so far even to get a level started i have to run at 1440x900, with and without the detail, and trying to run in administrative modes. xp compatible and not.
still crashes either at new game launch, or after i started the level a few moments. im on vista 64 bit, quad core, nvidia setup
im gonna try the game on my GF's pc she is on a dual core, ati setup, vista 32bit and see if i get any better luck there..
If not then I hope Gog.com will address this, because if they don't my next purchases from here might be a little more hesitant.
I run Windows XP 32bit And it hangs on level 3
Help:(
i am running blood2 not the nightmare levels
i asol have the nightmare levels on my pc

I have the same problem too on Windows XP 32 bit.
The game crashes at the end of the first level,
the game crashes after loading a saved game...
Tried with "Disabling DirectX 6 commands" -> didn't worked :(
Please help!

Try to run the game in Windows 98 compatible mode.
It WORKED on Windows XP 32 bit!
The game is not crashing, you can save now, can change to another resoluton etc.

Still doesn't work.
Blood is crashing after a few seconds of playing a game on my XP system yet plays perfectly on my Vista laptop. I've tried changing the display settings and trying to run it on different compatability modes but no luck.
Must add it is DOSbox that is the problem for some reason, it crashes and says DOSbox has encountered a problem.
The game kept crashing also after changing the display mode, but I've solved the problem disabling one cpu core working with dosbox.
I hope this might help someone! :)
why is this marked as solved it not! win7 and Ive tried everything Ive never had a full hour play though even on lowest res setting, and also it never saves ur setup changes probably something to do with it!
