I play this game all the time on my old Playstation 3 (I recently played it a month and a half ago), and the game appears to be playing slower while in game on this PC version I just bought. Keep in mind the cutscenes aren't slowed down, and in the games menus it's quick to respond, but when you walk around or swing it's slower than the original game on my end. Any fix for this?

Yea, it makes the game very hard to play. Hope someone gets back.
Use Verok's patch, it fixes the slow gameplay.

sadly that fix only works for the CD-ROM version of the game, not the GOG version. Verok himself commented at the bottom stating that he will update the patch to work with the GOG version once he gets the game in the future off GOG.

That's patently untrue. It works on the GOG version as well (just unzip the archive into your BO1 folder and overwrite the files), and the only issue is that the subtitles are displayed somewhat incorrectly, which is what he's looking at.

Well then I'll try. But go to the bottom and click on page 2 of that comment section and scroll to todays date and you'll see he did in fact say that. But I'll give it a try.

He never said the patch wont work with GOG. He just said he doesn't own the GOG version and doesn't want to buy it just for testing. I mean, he can't possibly know if the patch doesn't work on the GOG if he doesn't own the GOG version lol.

the thread was asking for him to update it so it worked for the GOG version. Implying it didn't. You have to read more than just what he wrote, he was responding to others. But again, if I'm wrong I'm wrong and I'm not against being wrong.

There's only a few posts before Verok's on the topic. One asks him to update the patch but doesn't ask why (I'm guessing they just assumed it would need to be updated for the GOG version without actually testing it). Another simply asked if the same fixes would work in the GOG version. The only post that specifically mentions a problem raises the broken subtitles, which has been mentioned here already by KentGAllard.

At no point did anyone even imply that the patch does not work.

I sent in a question about this. The response was that as far as they checked this is normal for the game. Game runs at 42 fps.

With the Verok's ddraw.dll patch the framerate feels higher than the GOG's wrapper. I don't know it that could cause problems in the flow of the game though

It doesn't, I beat the entire game with it more than once. It feels exactly like the PS1 version, minus the loading times.

Thanks for the answer.
PC version is slowed down by modded exe (GOG version as well, as Verok say after testing GOG version someone provide to him). And so we cant say what FPS is normal for PC version.

I have thought: i want put GOG's ddraw (and no dinput, i dont need it, same as no gameux.cmd) wrapper to Retail CD version (cue+bin disk image from Redump PC set) and check how it work.
At this time better solution is Verok's wrapper-mod, cause it didnt change game files. But it still mod. GOG version have modded exe - and this is a big question did it just DRM-free changes by Crystal Dynamics, or some else changes by GOG (speed\FPS limit like un-official ones do).
