Macos10: OK, so we have Blackguards Special edition here, will the ordinary cheaper version be on GoG ?
I ask because I refuse to pay this sort of money for a game that is at best an early entry and they are still patching, and I have no use for the stuff that comes with this. Some are reporting a show stopping bug right near the end of the game.
Other thing is am I right to assume this is DRM free and not tied to Steam ?
Where as gaming gone with all this paying full price for games that are not finished ?
* GOG policy has always been to include as many bonus and expansions as possible to the games they carry. It' s one of their selling points. Normally, this isn't a problem for oldies, but for new games, it can raise the price by a fair margin. That explains the "special edition" here.
Note that they are beginning to carry multiple editions of the same game (look AOW3, for example), but it's not (yet?) the norm. And the GOG store is not really organized to carry different "deluxe" editions or DLCs : Each one is listed as an independent game, which is kind of a mess if you're looking at the catalog.
* It's DRM free, yes. No Steam game here (and not this one, anyway). Dowload the installer, install, play. No need to be online, no need to register, no need to run any client program. It's clean.
* For the "early entry" comment, I find it a little harsh. It's pretty much as good as any release nowadays. Meaning there was a few glaring bugs at release, but all those that I had encountered have been patched since. I'm in the middle of chapter 4 (out of 5), and I encountered no noticeable bug since the last patch. I think the current version is good.
Of course, if there was a game-breaking bug right at the end, I will obviously not have seen it yet. But frankly, I doubt it, as there would have been an outcry with the people here that already finished the game.
* For the price : It's your call. Especially since it's the kind of game you either love or despise. Personally, I think it was worth every Euro I spent on it :)
