Could someone explain me how can I get the Velorian blessing without wasting points??

I mean, for example, the +4 melee. Does it mean that it will improve the melee bar by 4 points?

How does it work?

And if I'm an half ogre,, how should I distribute my stats, to avoid wasting point ??

Spoilers ahead . . . as if you didn't know.

I'm going to assume you know how to get the blessing itself; if not, there are guides online.

The blessing gives you a +30 bonus to both DR and MR, an extra 100 to HP and Fatigue, +4 to DX, and 3 ranks (or as the game calls it, a +12 bonus) to each of the following: Melee, Dodge, Persuasion, Pick Pockets and Firearms.

So, assuming your max DX is 20, you want to max out at 16* (including your gauntlets or rings of dexterity). You'll also want to stop at two ranks of Dodge, Melee, Persuasion, etc. Don't forget that the full Persuasion benefit relies on having a high enough Charisma, just as Firearms is tied to Perception.

So how do you play the game till you get to that point? My favorite trick is to take the Professional Knife Tosser background and use Throwing as my attack of choice. The extreme bonus (3/4 of a full rank) means that I can achieve mastery in Throwing with a DX of only 15.

*Don't forget to factor in the one-of-a-kind Vivifier, which gives you a permanent +1 bonus to every stat. If you're determined to maximize everything, be sure to stop at 15 DX (and 19 ST, etc.) Or you could just install the level cap remover, and never worry about points again.

sergio1992: p.s Do you know how can I reach the vendigroth ruins before doing the storyline??
You can "force" the location by heading there directly, if you know the map coordinates. You'll need to travel or teleport your way around the mountain ranges, though.
It should be noted that you cannot always force the Vendigroth Ruins by going directly to the coordinates. If you go and they do not appear on the map, you can try going to the Tulla location to force it. Now you won't be able to get inside using the normal methods, the guy at the "gate" won't teleport you in ahead of schedule. Instead there is a trick with the map that will let you bypass this, however it may take multiple attempts so be patient. Just a warning.
1- Discover Tulla
2- Go far enough away from the gates to open up the map that lets you mark travel coords w/o showing the city itself (need to see the wastes map, not Tulla map)
3- Set a path that travels directly over the Tulla coords. You might need to travel a little ways away in order to best see the travel line
4- When you are travelling "over" Tulla across the wastes hit the stop travel button. If done right, this will place you inside the city itself, allowing you to properly do the quest chain that unlocks the spirit, in turn unlocking the Vendigroth location on the map. Again this may take multiple attempts, so be patient. Also, consider bringing along lockpicks and a few ranks in pick locks skill, or the unlocking cantrip. Even if you get inside the city itself, you will still need to unlock a few doors for the quest that allows you to speak to the spirit

There is a possibility that you could also use the teleport spell to get inside, but I do not know for certain
