Hello there! First of all, I'm sorry for my English. It's not my native language. I’ve read a lot about Arcanum walkthroughs without killing anyone. But it was only a theory. I have not found anyone to guide a walkthrough by pacifist. And so I decided to try playing Arcanum without kills and fights. And now I wanna tell you about what I've got.
1) Creating a character.
Race. I chose gnome (+2 willpower + 10 reaction)
Background. Sheltered Childhood (+2 willpower, +2 intelligence, -6 strength)
5 start points: charm, charm beast, stun. And two points in charisma.
2) Tactics and character's development.
Use charm beast on beasts, use stun on humanoid enemies – it helps to stop battle.
Complete all possible quests in Shrouded Hills, Black Root, Dernholm, Tarant, Ashbury and Vooriden.
First level points – in charisma and persuasion (we need expert level).
After 5 level in willpower until 18. We need invisibility before we’re going in Black mountain clan.
Then max charisma and persuasion.
School Conveyance and Haggling are very useful too but not so important.
3) Сompanions
We walk alone for the most part of the game. There are only a few moments when we need companions:
Virgil – to scare assassin in Crash site
Any half-ogr – to move heavy items (if we haven’t spell strength of earth)
Arronax – to persuade Kerghan at the end
To complete ancient gods quest (to resurrect our character).
P.S. There is one trouble which screws up clean kill-list: in Void two guardians are not allowed into the Kerghan's palace. I found a decision on the terra-arcanum forum. "You have to use the Ring of Shadows (found in Strange Pond) to liquidate one of the guards (plant it on them)”
It was all I needed to end Arcanum without kills.

Well done!

I've never tried a pacifist run before. It was interesting to read about yours.
I noticed that you did this with a magic oriented character.

Is it possible to do this instead with a technology oriented character?

I think it possible and I will try later. But it will be MORE difficult (cause we haven't invisibility)
Most important stats: intelligence, charisma and perception. Prowling instead of invisibility. Best background is miracle operation. Best race - halflings.
Very cool!

CorwinCorey: I think it possible...
You'll probably want paralysis grenades and tranquilizer grenades, and maybe a tranquilizer gun too.

Non-lethal force weapons.
Agreeing with UniversalWolf; well done!

Was it only your PC who couldn't kill, or did the restriction apply to the entire party? (If it was the latter, I imagine you had to use the F5 button a lot.)

Also, how did you get past the zombies to talk to the Schuylers? Or did you allow your companions to lay to rest the already-dead?

Yes. I think about clockwork decoy too. But I'm not sure...
And I think I will need animal scent.

It's restriction apply to all members of your party. f5 - my best friend :D
About Schuylers: I drank potion of speed and ran. I did not fought with zombies

Good idea. I was wondering about animal scent in my last playthrough because I've never used it before. It should be perfect for crossing Hardin's Pass.

Hello again! I wrote a few month about pacifist mage character. And now I tell a little bit about technological pacifist.
Race - halfling, background - miracle operation. We need not only intelligence and charisma. Perceptions is very important too.(for mage only willpower and charisma)
We have not invisibility and teleportation. It's a big problem for technological. So instead invisibility we can use prowling(expert level is very good) or many (MANY) poisons of speed. Mage have spell "charm animal", we have "animal scent". But remember, if you travel with a party, every member of it must use animal scent. If battle start use stun grenade(then it can be replaced for Knock out Gas ) or paralyzer and anaesthisizer. Flow Specktrometer - to see the traps. About companions and other I wrote in first post.
So it is all I wanna to say. It possible to end for tech-pacifist - YES. Do I recommend - NO. If you wanna play Arcanum without killings - play it for mage.
Thank you.

After this walkthrough i wish to play with "Genghis Khan mode" - kill everyone on my path :D No talks - only fights. Even in cities and villages.
And when I'll come into the Void, Kerghan says: "I must destroy Arcanum, are you help me? " And I says: "Man, you're late. This world already in ruins"
But it will be after Pillars of Eternity Path of Damned :)
