Damn I HATE the wasd setup Who the Fuck uses wasd nowadays who thought it was like the best Idea, Idiots.

I use::

Move Forwards = Right Mouse Button
Move Backwards = d
strafe left = s
strafe Right = f
lean left = w
lean right = e
Duck = a
grenade or secondary fire = g
reload = r
Melee attack = c
Torch/night vision = q
Action button / Use inventory Item = Caps Lock
Sneak or run = Left Shift
Use item in game world = Middle Mouse button
scroll wheel up = next weapon / item
scroll wheel down =Previous weapon / Item
Primary Fire = left mouse button
spacebar = jump

This is the most awesome configuration for First Person Perspective games and Most other games feels just right and has minimal movements of *BOTH* hands.

I use a Logitech G400, but this will do for any mouse with a couple extra buttons where your thumb goes:

I just mapped W (move forward) to the thumb button.

I don't really need to strafe or anything, because if I want to turn I do so with the mouse, then hit the "move forward" button and there I go. I thought about having a move back, but really it's just as easy to veer the mouse to the side, "walk forward" to pull a U-Turn and then try to open the door or talk to the guy or whatever again.

The upside is? I no longer need the keyboard. I can play using only the mouse, which this game probably should have supported in the first place. I'd love a "click to move" mod, but I doubt it's ever going to happen. :)
I'm confused. Did anyone replace WASD with something else?

Hah, no, I still have the original keyboard setup for when I'm hunched over the computer. But when I'm kicking back and feel like playing an RPG using only a mouse, I made it so one of the mouse's extra side buttons also walk forward (steering is done with the mouse as usual).
How did you accomplish the mapping of w to the mouse button? The game will not allow any mouse assignments for movement. I am trying to install the Razer software, I assume there are game-specific mappings possible but it will not let me log in... (since when does mouse software require a login, seriously).

I use Logitech Gaming Software with my G400.

There's a few free alternative generic keyboard remapping programs out there. I've had success with Joy2Key in the past, a Japanese program that lets you remap gamepad (and, I think mouse) to the keyboard. Someone translated it to English. It's pretty easy to find.

Did you manage to get this to work? I've got a Logitech anywhere MX mouse and none of my mappings work. They do work for many other games, just not for older games it seems.
