Remove recaptcha
Recaptcha is used to track you around websites and if you care about your privacy you're forced to mark down images every time. Those images are used to train google's neural networks(or were, I guess they have gotten enough information and now can just piss people off). Normally that's a paid job, poorly though(search Mechanical Turk) but in this case you do it for free.
There is at least some value to it that I can understand but not tolerate when it's used on registration/contact forms as there are no other resilient ways of spam protection that are widely known but c'mon, signing in? You can limit incorrect login attempts or send a code via e-mail(already implemented by the way) or blacklist malicious login IPs. Looking at the comments you've probably introduced and taken it down before, so I hope it won't last long but until then I'm not visiting the site either.
Welp, another site I will not be revisiting until the nefarious reCAPTCHA bull-s is rectified among other issues. Google has enough supremacy already to not encourage it any further. Especially when alternatives exist that do not condone exploiting user's fundamental digital rights. Remember to also vote for "De-googling GOG" WIsh if you haven't already. This kind of degradation is not welcome here, nor should it be anywhere else either.
Today, once again, I did not buy a game because GoG uses ReCaptcha. I refuse to do slave labour for Google's AI classification engine and do not want to send additional data to Google. These discounts are useless to me. I'll either buy the game at a higher price if I really want it, or not buy the game at all. The discount on price isn't really worth sending my data to Google. I value my data a lot more than the price of a game.
Friendly post so people notice this wish in the recently active wishlist items!
I've never once noticed a single person ever benefit from recaptcha or google or anything. I've only ever heard people being annoyed by it, and I've only ever been inconvenienced by it. +1
