GOTY should mark main game and DLCs as bought
They actually have this already in their database but for only some games
table = gamePieces
all they have to do is edit their field, "value" that contains the "releases" array. Add in the other game to the array and it would all be sorted.
just lazy on their end OR broken code that they don't know is broken
Please also merge the achievements of those games. I have unlocked a lot of achievements in the Witcher 3, but are still missing them in Witcher 3 GOTY.
Could lead to more problems than it's worth if done wrong. Reminds me of PSN+ free game "purchase" that prevents me from really purchasing the game until PSN expires, by which time the sale is over, or the game is removed from PSN and no longer available. Some GOTY/complete/upgrade versions have fewer
languages available.
Basically, if you add a 'mark' to another version, don't take any purchase options away.
Yes please
Do this GOG, please
Then there's the Season Pass...
I have The Witcher 3, all the DLC, and the GotY Edition they gave us for having it all.
Still get recommendations for the expansion pass :)
This kind of polish would make GOG a joy to use, excuse the pun.
Also, the package deals, we need something like Steam where it realizes you own the base game and allows upgrades by discounting the value of what is already in your library from the package when you purchase.
pretty sure steam already does this
Should be fixed for easier collection handling.
I would rather have it say "This GOTY (or whatever)-edition contains the following items:" and on the respective DLC-pages etc. above the "Buy series"-box "Contained in: X (owned)". And ofc those won't be recommended to you anymore.
Yes, please, it bothers me that I always see Witcher 3 & DLCs as recommendations even though I own the GOTY edition.
In case of the Witcher, I got the GOTY edition because I had all the content. We still had to ask for it, but it did happen.
I have the same issue with Pillars of Eternity and Shadowrun Hong Kong. With Pillars, I see all the other editions and DLC still as un-owned, and after having bought the upgrade for Hong Kong, I still see the Deluxe Edition as un-owned.
So either let GOG mark them, or (as another request added) allow us to mark a game as owned, thus making it greyed out.
Or at least not have it recommend purchasing the original + dlc once I had purchased the EE/GOTY bundle.
it should also work the other way round. if you have all the content of the goty it should also come up as already owned
