Everything from Studio Ghibli
The idea of a digital storefront for DRM-free movies is interesting. It would be a great alternative to streaming services and physical discs, provided the films are provided in a quality equal to or exceeding blu-ray. I think licensing would be a barrier to seeing Ghibli films or other content on a platform like GOG.
Come on. There's plenty of streaming sites out there that have Ghibli. This request is nonsense and a waste of space.
ni no kuni
damn that's a crazy one, voted
Ross_Martin... what an ill-informed generalisation. It is 100% obvious you have not seen any of the beautiful stories of Studio Ghibli what a dead shjt comment.
Ross_martin, what does that have to do with Studio Ghibli?
What is WRONG with this generation? Watching Child Porn and calling it Anime or whatever is still watching CHILD PORN! Paint a duck up like a pig and pretend it is a pig until it quacks pervs. Just a matter of time until ya'll are racing to get your names and avatars off of these pervert companies websites.
Would dearly love this but as stated by others the greedy filth that is disney own the rights outside of Japan so this will never happen.
Try PirateBay.
God no. Anime is cancer.
Why only Ghibli?
There are many other great japanese animation studios out there.
I love the work of Makoto Shinkai for example.
preach!
Yeah! That'd be great!
I would definitely love it. But I understand that the media industry is far more twisted than the videogame industry...
Some good stuff happening here is the US. Someone swindled the rights out of Disney's mits and now we are seeing showings in some the theaters here of the classics. it's pretty sweet!
Studio Ghibli in Australia is published by Madman Entertainment
Ghibli distribution outside of Japan is owned by Disney so you can forget it.
Unfortunately, Studio Ghibli is against publishing their films digitally for whatever reason (I still prefer physical media for everything except PC games, most of the time) and only wants their films on physical media.
There are some exceptions for films that they produced but couldn't completely secure the rights internationally (Studio Ghibli owns all of their films in Japan) like Grave of the Fireflies Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, and StudioCanal UK's British English dub of Arrietty.
An Absolute Yes!
I stumbled in on this wishlist just after signing up so i got a very foggy idea what this could possibly mean, but i never could say no to Ghibli <3 !

This would be so amazing and if it is possible please in all languages i would love to have them all
Some of them are on UK TV (Channel 4 Movies) every school holiday for a few years now, I recorded some of them but the ad intervals are a bit of a pain.
this is like asking nintendo to show up on pc or some other system
please, i dont care the price just make a collection and you have my money!
Yes please!
Oh hell yes. I would buy every one of them if they were put here at a fair price........You know what, I think I might just buy them physical...........still would be nice to have them here though.
Bring on these awesome movies!
yes, ghibli makes awesome movies. Would just like to add for the sake of earlier licensing discussions, that none of my copies standing on the shelf over there, except ponyo, are in anyway related to Disney corporation. Their licensing rights are by no means 'Global' .
I just think it would be cool if people will be able to see Ghibli classics in here. Without bothering with buying DVDs which always under threat if you accidentally scratching them.
The Wind Rises, an excellent film I would love to see here on GOG
Please Yes, and with subtitles, no dubs, that would be horrible
hell just give me spirited away and princess mononoke and ill be happy
Actually Dark that distribution agreement with Disney includes everywhere in the world(including Japan), with the exception of China.
Might be a bit hard, given that Disney owns the distribution rights in the US (don't know about the EU, but I assume it's the same there), but I'd love to own a digital copy of Castle in the Sky and Porco Rosso, especially given the ridiculously high prices for Blu-Rays.
Just adding my voice to the cacophany.
Bring me my Nausicaa and I will gladly pay.
this is gonna make my life complete if I'll be able to buy Ghibli Collection from GoG DRM-free.
Please YES! <3
Please NO!
pls in the highest quality available!
It depends on the region, really.
yeah i hope the entire collection makes its here. I thought disney only had the rights to one movie? Down under Madman publish and distribute the movies.
Sadly I think the distribution rights were sold to Disney exclusively since a few years.
I don't wish that all the anime stuff gets here because most is bad IHO, but Ghibli's is amazing.
Yes, mon amour. I'm lovin' it this greatest movies.
Thanks to "A Tombstone For Fireflies" to appreciate
and love this great studio called "Studio Ghibli".

How anyone can call the animation work on "The Wind Rises" or "Princess Kaguya" shitty I cannot fathom. The animation on "The Wind Rises" looks like a painting come to life and for "Princess Kaguya" it resembles older Edo or Heian period paintings(can't remember the exact period here).
