This game was fantastic.
Another classic from MicroProse that was released nearly 30 years ago that I could play and enjoy today. Check out what Moby Games has to say about it: www.mobygames.com/game/dos/twilight-2000
An underrated classic! Vote added!
This game was the best. Just getting your soldier profile selection right took lots of time .. the driving could have been executed more properly ...
Yes !!! I still have my DOS floppies and the T2000 P&P manuals. I loved the nuke footage in the opening scenes
Absolutely! This game is a gem! I just wish all the planned content was added to the game.
It's like a mix between Fallout and Jagged Alliance, if only clunky ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes, please
it's curious that just polish game site doesnt add THIS game (and long time ago)
almost shame!
Always wanted this game. But for those who are new, here is some background on the whole Twilight: 2000 history. Twilight: 2000 was an amazing RPG (The pen & paper version) produced by Game Designers Workshop (GDW) that came out in the 1984, with a revised versions (version 2.0 and then 2.2) come out in the early 90s (1990 and 1993 respectively). It was a Warsaw Pact vs. NATO Cold War gone hot encompassing the whole world and a limited nuclear exchange. The later version, updated the time line and mechanics (more a d10). You can still get all the versions (full catalog) on RPGNow.com in PDF or a printed or CDRom Version from Far Future Enterprises. Merc 2000 was similar to version T2000 version 2.0 and 2.2, but set in a future with no nuclear exchange. There was a boardgame of sorts and new mechanic presented for bigger, mass battles called Twilight: 2000 The Last Battle, that some might find interesting as well. In 2008, 93 Games Studio produced an updated version of the game calling it Twilight: 2013 with a revised timeline and mechanics. Also available in PDF at RPGNow. Lastly Traveler 2300 or 2300 AD a hard sci-fi game set 300 years after the "Twilight War" was kind of the future that GDW had following T2000. Mongoose is the current holder of the license and uses there version of the Traveler Rules set for 2300 AD. I would like to see them use the Traveler rules for a new version of the P&P RPG.
Anyway, now on to Twilight 2000 the video game by Paragon. Never had it, but always wanted it. A friend did an he played the heck out it. Here is the blurb for those interested from MobiGames:
This tactical wargame/adventure is based on the GDW pencil and paper role-playing game. NATO and Warsaw Pact forces spent the latter part of the 1990s fighting a brutal war, which has turned Poland into a desolate radiation-riddled land, full of abandoned vehicles and weapons. The maniacal Baron Czarny wants to take over what's left of the country; you must stop him.
The player must organize a team of 20 generated soldiers, each of whom will respond to orders differently, based on their personality. Specific abilities, attributes and languages spoken can be set.
Action from within the vehicles is shown in 3D, outside action is viewed top-down. Both aspects of the game require meticulous planning around the game's range of weapons and vehicles. Help can be received from NPCs, via the game's communication system.

A must have on GoG. This is such a great game - probably forgotten or overlooked by most.
Its abandon-ware now, but needs the gog interface.
I never finished it (and not sure it can be finished) but I'd love to have this, and the Colonel speech/content pack!
Loved the pen and paper version but never got a chance to play the CRPG
Agreed! It is a little repetitive but a must have. Would love to see this added.
Overlooked amazing classic military game.
