- insert/mount your CD
- "THING1" ist the Game-folder,
. rename/copy it where you like.
- modify "FLOAT.CFG" & "MULTI.CFG"
. change "draw_method 2" to "draw_method 4",
. for default window-mode
- start the game commands:
. "<CD-drive>:\THING2\INTRO.AVI" (Cinepack codec)
. "FLOAT.EXE float.cfg" for single player
. "FLOAT.EXE multi.cfg" for multi player (not tested)
. "README.TXT"
- at this state the game runs, but no sound.
- create a registry-entry:

darkronnie i still have my old Tone Rebellion CD but i just cant get it to work, i didnt speak english at the age of 10 so i never were able to complete the game, but i loved it, it was soo very special, both art-wise and from what little i could understand of the story, i would love to buy a GoG version if they get it

BurningSheep Yeah, when I tried it some years ago, I could only get it to run in a window and with the soundtrack running in the background separately.
The soundtrack is reason enough to have it here on gog, but actually being able to play the game would be nice too ;)
Torim.cv Man, I remember playing this as a kid. Din't know English at 4 but somehow managed to finish it. Forgot about it. Then at 25 I randomly remembered the name of the archive (reb) I Installed it out off. Only with the vague images of my childhood and the name of it, I started searching. And man, did it take me an entire MONTH. But finally found it on myabandonware.com. Would be nice if gog would make it run a bit easier on w10.

mcassone This game is one of my favorite games. I would buy it instantly if GOG could revive it. I have two copies of it, but it's very hard to get working on my Windows 10 machine. If GOG used their superpowers to make that easier, I would be forever enthralled by them.

Fortuk One the few games that actually deserves the moniker 'unique'. A game that is actually alien, rather than humanoid. Also a great example of how mechanics, art and sound can be used to enhance each other, rather than functioning in a vacuum (soundtrack by Nenad Vugrinec, who also composed the Ascendancy soundtrack).
Exceptional game that does not get anywhere close to the amount of attention that it deserves. Needs to be on GOG. Also, if it ever gets on GOG, please add the manuals that came with the box-sets. They contain most of the actual story of the game, so you need them to see the bigger picture.
+ For those trying to get it to work on modern systems, try using the older patches if the newest one causes the game to glitch. That's what fixed it for me. Also, installing the game with Windows XP Compatibility on can also make a difference.

Sunwalker32 Oh man, this game was AWESOME! It's one of my favorite RTS games, right up there with Outpost 2 and Homeworld. The story was minimalist but still interesting, the game mechanics were fun and easy to learn, and it had an atmospheric soundtrack, which will hopefully be included as a bonus if it does get a GOG release.

The AI can be pretty bad but otherwise it is a really atmospheric game and it works fine on Win7 for me.
phoenixclaws I still have my original copy of the Tone Rebellion and still boots on Windows7. It just needs a directx fix patch so the color palette works correctly. Otherwise totally playable game.

EdgyAntares Very nice unusual RTS with elements of adventure games. The most notable feature of The Tone Rebellion is its fantastic soundtrack by Nenad Vugrinec. That would be a great addition to GOG's catalog.

gogskel Absolutely a masterpiece that is rather "far out" there. Tried to get my version working, but it's really bad in terms of graphical glitches. Definitely deserves a gog-release and -treatment, if only because it is so odd and ethereal.
FiatLux This game possibly has a bug in it so that it sometimes could not be "solved"/"finished" , but a great game that defenitely ought to be at GOG.com.
