Tepacana I've been able to run Starlancer on windows 10, but now I've only got windows 11, it crashes on leaving a mission, please give us a stable modern port of this game, I'd pay very handsomely for it, and you'd be my personal heroes!

If somebody will give me a place to store it and if somebody wants to go to the trouble of making it win10 compatible I'll be glad to give it to them. jonnyb70a at yahoo dot com. put 'starlancer' in the title pls. since it's abandonware i'm fairly sure this isn't illegal. if it is, i apologize. i just want to play the thing with the movies intact. great storyline.
droy5668 I've offered an unsealed copy of the game to them to do so since I know for a fact that the copyright is no longer valid. They told me without getting explicit permission and access to Microsoft's old software for DRM we can expect no movement on this.
JedTheMentalist I've owned physical copies of Starlancer on both PC and Dreamcast. I've been waiting for console and PC platforms to give us another chance to replay this classic cold war in space. The immersion is great as both friend and foe communicate openly during flight. Freelancer is drastically different but appreciated, though I'm a sucker for the original. So many untold stories.

I still have the original game disk but as computers don't have disk drives any more.. it would be awesome to have a legitimate digital copy rather than downloading from a Russian website.. the mod scene for this is huge as well!

Ullur I'm actually surprised the game isn't on GOG. More surprised that anyone really remembers this game. Was pretty over-shadowed by Freelancer, which is a shame since the genre died shortly afterwards and modern titles kinda lack the whole gritty, grimdark fighter-squadron dynamic StarLancer had.

Crazy_McGee *obiken* Microprose is back! They have two titles currently making waves; Highfleet and Carrier Command 2. (They're both available on Steam and on community wishlists here.) Is it the same Microprose as before? That is doubtful but I would imagine that they still have full or part ownership of the license.
I think the biggest problem with this title is Chris Roberts. He probably wants an arm and a leg to allow these titles on GOG since he's bleeding money trying to get Star Citizen in a workable, let alone playable, state.

obiken You guys have to remember, we may never see some of these games. IF GOG can make it happen they would. Its like the whole Dune series, Westwood is gone, why cant they get the license for Dune? Sometimes these licenses are tougher to get than you realize. My Number 1: Gunship 2000, I am sure Microprose being dead, the license is hard to get.
obiken You can still play Starlancer the fix is on Abandonware. I loved Starlancer, and it was a great game, no doubt about it, but sorry, easy level should be easy level, this game was too damned hard and took too long. Its like Privateer it took me years to beat the Taryn Cross mission on that game.

Kalquien Great Story and awesome game play make this one of the best of the space flight sims not to get a remake.
PhaidKnott Much ignored by many, yet one of the better space sims released around this period (many of my fellow gamers have heard of Freelancer, but never Starlancer). This one NEEDS to appear in my GoG library in a patched to windows 10 format and allow me to go back 20 years to fly those Russian bombers (complete with ugly clanking noises as bits fell off as you flew around :D )

TheSlider Probably the best Space sim I ever player in the last 20 years.
My physical copy still works on win 10 with a classic nocd patch so i'm guessing this wouldn't be that difficult to adapt. Microsoft probably still owns the licence i think.
