Star Wars: Tie Fighter completed
Take a look for "TIE Fighter Reconstructed," which puts all the music into the GOG Tie 98 version. It works well and sounds terrific.
So close! Can't wait to buy it if they release the 1995 Collector's version with iMuse, speech, and improved cutscenes!
This is great. I just wish it were on OS X and Linux as well.
Thank you GoG and Disney!! You made my decade!!
So excited to see this has become available. With this, Strike Commander, and Privateer my childhood flying fix is complete.
Any idea what resolution it will run at? 320x240? or maybe even a modern day res?
Now my kids get to enjoy one of the greatest games ever made. Excellent.
It's coming! www.kotaku.co.uk/2014/10/27/x-wing-tie-fighter-finally-getting-digital-re-releases
No other game has ever felt as awesome as Tie Fighter did in mid 90's. This game felt so good that it ensured I never was a Star Wars fan playing Tie Fighter - I was, and remain, a Tie Fighter fan watching Star Wars.
Old game would be good. Remake would be better.
I remember that first time with the wide open cockpit view and the whine of the engines and I just .. smiled. Great game.
It did have two things I didn't like.
TIE defender, it was a silly design.
Sumptntodo - a frigate off to the side in a few missions. (Something to do?!? Breaking the fourth wall hard, there.).
tie fighter is outstanding, cmon its a must für GOG!
i would buy this immediately when its available.
Please, please, please! Please with a cherry on top?!?
Greatest SW game ever. It is an absolute CRIME that there might not every be another X-Wing or TIE Fighter game again.
Amazing story and gameplay all wrapped into one amazing package, and becoming an Imperial ACE pilot to boot, Maarek Stele, adding his name to list of legendary aces such as Baron Soontir Fel.
The adrenaline pumping through your veins as multiple bogies pop up on your scope and all there is between you and them is the thin armor on your TIE Fighter or TIE Interceptor. *WARNING INCOMING MISSILE*
One of the greatest games in my opinion. I remember how I loved to play this game. The first I ever bought. Story is amazing, graphics may be a little old but well worth the money. A chance to fly for the Empire again, working your way up from TIE fighter to Missile boat, blasting Rebel scum and even other Empire factions. Cut scenes with Admiral Thrawn, Vader and the Emperor himself. So many good memories. Definitely need a flight stick for this one.
For the love of [insert your favorite personal deity here], make this happen!! :).
Please make this a reality. I've tried several times to get it to work on my PC, and it's just not having it. I would gladly pay for the chance to play this excellent game again. Hell, I might even consider buying another flight stick for it.
I would love this game and X wing added to the list.....Take my MONEY dammit!!! :)
All of my yes. Would pay 19.99 for this right effing now.
Make this happen please!
This is NEEDED. How is it no one has got digital distribution rights for this one yet considering how everyone and their mother raves about how good it is?
Make this happen.
This is the game i have been searching for. I have the disk and I'm willing to go buy an old computer just to play it. I'd rather get it here and do it on this computer
Lucasarts games probably won't be coming for some time since Disney bought Lucasarts and closed them down in April 2013. Lucasarts site is though still online. Here link to the gameinformer article about the closing of Lucasarts: www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/04/03/disney-closes-game-publisher-lucasarts.aspx
been waiting for Star Wars games such as X-Wing and Tie Fighters and more but George Lucas hasn't released this game at all and don't think he attends to allow GOG to add these games. I looked up Amazon and looked for Tie Fighter, there's a company called Gone Gold that sells those games AND make it work on Windows 7 and 8!! I purchased it and it works!! I'm loving this Simulations, and shooting those targets, best game in the world!! Yes, GOG should still provide those games too, since it's a classic and cannot work on newer versions of computers. or you guys can check out Amazon, look for Gone Gold sellers and they have lists of Star Wars and many other hard to find games and work on Windows 7 and 8, even Windows XP, and so on. hope this helps.
I think this was my husband's second favorite all time game (behind Stars! which I just put in a vote for). Would love to be able to get this for him to play again. We keep a joystick on hand because we live in hope. :) C'mon GOG, c'mon Disney ...
I'd love to have all versions of all X-Wing series games on GOG:
Floppy Disk, CD-ROM and Win95 Versions of X-Wing and TIE Fighter
X-Wing vs TIE Fighter + Balance of Power
X-Wing Alliance
(There are even unofficial fixes on the net which let the Windows X-Wing games run on newer Windows versions, including 64-bit)

Absolutely agree with all these comments. I would pay the full whack price for this game, had it way back in the days of 486 DX100, loved it, adored it, played it again and again. Add in modern joystick or gamepad support and take my money.
TIE Fighter (and X-Wing) had so many abusable bugs, and TIE Fighter had such broken ships. All power to the engines with no laser/shield/beam power left! But who cares, it was all single-player. Then turn on the SLAMs :o
maagsathgart: SWTOR has the Galactic Starfighter feature, which some people even play exclusively instead of the story, and a lot flashier than you could do with a Pentium + Voodoo. They're also making Star Wars Attack Squadrons, which is in beta. SWTOR is... well, EA.
I agree, CD ROM version with original midi music!
Please!!! Collector's edition but with original music option would be greatly appreciated! :D
CD ROM version, dos box it with the original midi music and you have a sale GOG.
This game's story truly hooked me into Star Wars. I was the Emperor's Hand! Really would love to play through again :)
Never used this line, but now feels appropriate:
"Take my money!"
(Why the h**l are there no new SW-space-sims by now? Todays computers can handle so much more)
Lou Reed is dead! For us left behind only Tie Fighter can make us walk on the dark side as uncle Lou.
Do it, GOG!
OMG I love this game PLEASE GOG PLEASE make this happen.
Disney! Get your suits off and get in gear!
I hope GOG could make this happen, this was one of the first games I ever played and is still my favorite game of all time.
This was one of the best space combat simulator games I ever played. I'd gladly purchase this for nostalgic reasons.
I would buy a GOG version of this game. But I think it would be cooler if a group would remake it with a newer game engine and graphics. Larger battles, lots of space debris, epic effects. Use the story and campaign missions from X-wing, Tie Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance.
This was one of the first games I played on my first ever PC. And nothing has beaten it yet. X-Wing Alliance came close but Tie Fighter got the cigar
I had the original floppy disk release and later purchased the updated X-Wing - Tie Fighter collection. I preferred the later release to be honest with its updated graphics. If you play the two games one after the other you will realise in the gameplay in the original Tie Fighter the enemy ships were just a blur of pixels. However unfortunately the later released updated the cool authentic Tie Fighter midi music with generic Star Wars music. Would be nice to have a GOG version with updated graphics but the original music. Or options for either?
Seriously make this happen. If ya'll offered it with options original textures and optional original MIDI music I would easily pay $80 for this thing.
This is the game you are looking for. :-)
I would gladly pay the old, full price for TIE Fighter, X-wing, and the rest of the series.
My question, would these be released in their un-textured, original style, or with the appearance of the Xwing vs Tie Fighter release? I'd vote for the original look, enormous polygons and all.
o good lord yes please. no other space combat sim series has ever matched these.
Would buy this game in an instant...so many happy memories of what is one of the best games ever made.
